Runners, which good neighbor hotel is your favourite?

We are planning on running in the Tinkerbell 1/2 in January and as much as I would looooove to stay on property I think it is going to be too much money for us. So of the other properties which are your favourite as far as convenience to the start/finish and value for money? TIA!

We have reservations at HoJo and Park Vue Inn for the suites. Certainly- a but further to walk, but we need a two-room suite. The PVI also have breakfast and dinner.

Is there problems with crossing the Esplandade in the morning?

Would it be better to pick a Disney Hotel or Stovals or the Annabella for the race day?

I'm staying at the Carousel Inn for the race~ going to the park 3/4 days so I'm going for park ease and am going to trek it to the start race day. I have 1 queen and it's like $70/night. 1st time there, so can't offer good or bad on that one. Past DL 1/2's I've stayed at Alpine Inn and BW Stovall's on Katella, as well as BW Anaheim on Harbor and DL Hotel. Definitely the easiest, but I agree w/ you a bit much $wise(when I stayed it was only 2 nights and split 3 ways so that was the only way I could do it again).

The difference b/w the DL 1/2 and Tinkerbell is the starting area. W/ the DL, it's easy to stay on Harbor b/c all you have to do is cut through DTD. But w/ Tink, I'm thinking the staging area is on the Katella side of PPI parking lot, so cutting across DTD will be more of a trek or you can walk down Harbor to Katella and up Katella. I was telling someone on the WISH Tink thread, that it all depends on which you want more convienence for. If you are going to be at the parks, I would stay on Harbor and just walk a little farther. But if you're just going down for the race, Stovall's is right there and would be an easy walk. Nice hotel too. But it would be a longer walk to the parks the rest of the time. Something also to think of is the shuttle bus, if they have one. They do have one for the DL 1/2 and it picks up at some hotels and drops you off at the Harbor entrance for the parks which would help if you stay closer to the race start. The shuttle runs Fri-Sun so that would help a little bit. If you go on the DL 1/2 website and click on Transportation, they have a map of hotels they stop at to give you a better idea.

I've also stayed at Ramada Main Gate, Candy Cane Inn and Anaheim Plaza Hotel(although a long time ago) and those were nice also. The nice thing about those is it's kind of a compromise, b/c they're on Harbor but closer to Katella so it's a block or so farther parkwise, but a block or so closer racewise.

I may be *losing it* but I don't see PVI listed on that list. Maybe you were just refering to the list independent of PVI (meaning, it's not on the list, but here is a list of discounted hotels).
ALSO, HoJo has a 25% discount off normal rates (beats the AP discount!)

Oops! Total typing bad grammar. Typing what I was thinking. The "they" is RunDisney NOT PVI. I did not get a special at the PVI, just their AAA rate online. I didn't call them to ask if they had a special rate for the Tink Runners.
