Thanks Jordan! I'm thinking happy thoughts for an attempt this weekend
Hey guys! Thank you! Hope you had a great holiday!
Training is going...bleh....my IT band got really bad at one point and I've been going to physical therapy for it. Going to try a long run on Sunday!
Just want to say hi and I haven't forgotten about you guys! I take the GMATs on Satuarday so hopefully after thats over I can get back here regularly!
Good luck on the GMATs
Okay, I must confess. I've been lurking on your pre-trip reports and your trip reports and now your "training log". For months. And I have to chime in now.
Please note: I'm 46, so I've got a few more years on my running knees than you.
Sounds like I had the SAME pain as you. Left knee, inside. Only hurt to run and climb and decend stairs. Went to the chiropractor. He said I needed to stretch the butt muscle and my quads more. I tried that. Quit running for two weeks when I went to WDW in September. Everything healed in that window because I noticed I could do stairs painlessly. Came home and tried running again along with LOTS of stretching. The pain came back. This time I went to a knee/hip specialist who said I probably had some swelling in the ligament or the bursa sac between the ligament (bursitis!). He gave me a cortisone shot right in the ligament. It hurt like a %$&#@ for two days (which in my book meant he got the shot right where the pain was eminating). And sure enough. I'm running pain-free now! I ran twice in NYC's Central Park during Thanksgiving week during my vacation and I've been running since I got back. 3-5 miles a day. No pain.
Who knows how long the cortisone solution will last. 6 weeks? Or forever? Only time will tell.
Good luck with your training and your marathon next month!
sorry that the pain is still there.
Hopefully the run will be pain free?
Good attitude about ADRS always better to have them and cancel!
Electrostimulation... yikes!
okay good to know!
the trip is coming up soon!!!!!
do you run in the snow? or is there somewhere indoors where you run?
I actually run outside. it sounds horrible but it's not too bad. I just bundle up and after the first mile I'm warmed up and can keep on going. They plow the park fairly well by me and luckily for my run on Saturday we missed the snow by an hour.
I can't run on a treadmill at ALL. It's wayyyyyyy too boring for me!
It's actually a lot better than it sounds..it's quite fabulous! hahaha! it's like the best massage ever
Hmmm....very interesting hearing about something new. are there alot of people out running? or are you kinda kooky?
Well, as long as it doesn't involve needles
