We've heard rumors about:

*Where DCL will sail in 2007
*A special announcement for Disney's 50th birthday

So far I haven't heard any answers. Especially the special announcement.

Do you think maybe they will make the announcement soon or maybe on the Repo Cruise in August...

What do you think?

Deb

Repo cruise in August would be great! I'm not going to be on it, but I know someone would post about it!

I Bet The Rates For 2007 & Schedule Come out SOON ..
Maybe even Before the End Of August... :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Most of those rumors centered around the fact that the Magic was going to stay in port for one full day right around the 50th anniversary earlier this month (July). There was a lot of speculation that this would be for a big press conference to make a big announcement and this I believe was the source of the rumor.

It turned out that it stayed in port for a big fund raiser and there was no press conference or no announcement. So unless there is something else going on, I think this one was just a rumor

Wonder and Magic were designed as warm weather port ships so Europe and Alaska are unlikely, unless they put a retractable cover over the top deck while it is in dry dock.
Other than possibly bring the Magic or maybe the Wonder to California again in 2007, I don't think any big announcements are coming. They're selling out a year in advance as it is, with no end in sight to that. There are 200 million plus potential customers in the U.S., with most living within 2 hours flying time of Orlando or Los Angeles.
The Magic and Wonder carry just over 421,000 passengers in a year....seems like a lot, until you realize that's about how many people visit Disneyland in California in a week. And my trip to DL last month cost darn close to what a cruise would have.

Maybe they are going to FINALLY announce plans to start the new ship...

When I tried to look at how full our August 6th west coast sailing was about 6 months ago, it had the option of 2005 or 2007. The next day the 2007 option was gone. Maybe just a glitch, who knows.

How about a cruise to Bermuda? I think that would be a neat cruise. How about you all? Cruises usually stop in the two major coastal cities.

While we were on the ship a couple of weeks ago, someone had mentioned that they were still working out contracts for the 2007 season. To me that would mean that they are going somewhere new. If it were Florida or even California/Mexico shouldn't take that long to renew contracts. I agree that neither ship is prepared for Alaska, but who knows about drydock. I think that DCL has had a good experience in California (Sellout or near sellout). Unfortunately Mexico a second time around would not be as fruitful. Where every it is going we will be on it in 2007, unless it is Mexico again. Then we would fly to Florida to sail.
