I guess word has it that DD's boyfriend will be breaking up with her soon.

He hasn't told her yet, but her friends and his friends know and informed her.

I guess this is the way teens do it nowadays instead of confronting one another they tell a friend, who tells a friend and so on and so on and so on . . .lol

Well, it happened tonight . . .online of course . . .she wasn't too upset . . .he will be going to a technical h.s. in September and he wouldn't see her at all . . .He told her his PARENTS were making him break-up with her because he needs to concentrate on school.

Then he asked for his chain back. lol

that sounds just like my dd's middle school. you tell a friend you're going to break up with your significant other, so that by the time you actually say "let's break up" everyone in school knows about it.

What gets me is when my son gets phone calls from his "friends" telling him he needs to break up with ____ and go out with ____.
I wish he would tell these annoying children to get a life!

I haven't gotten to the dating stage with the kids, yet, but my boss says that his DD's get IM's from boys that always add "lol" to the end of them. For instance, "We should go to see the new Matrix movie. lol" That way, if she wants to say, "yes," it's great, but if she says, "no," he doesn't have to be embarrassed, because it could have been a joke.

I'm just surprised that he didn't email her the news of the breakup.
