Rumored New Ride: Secret Life of Pets

To go in place of the mostly unused Toon Lagoon amphitheater, The Secret Life of Pets has been highly rumored at the IAPPA tradeshow this year.

It's supposed to be a no-height limit family friendly dark ride. This is supposed to be the first phase of updating Toon Lagoon.

Some notes on this (rumors): Supposedly a trackless dark ride, not screen based, and for all ages. Vaguely similar to Pooh's Honey Hunt in Japan.

Secret Life of Pets is a movie by the same folks who made Despicable Me coming next year, Universal feels very confident about it and is already moving forward to make a ride out of it.

When I saw the preview at the movies in August it automatically became a must see movie for me so Universal is obviously very sure that there's lot of people like me that they're betting it will be a hit and making a ride out of it.

I would like to see the trackless ride system used for something more awesome than the so-so Penguins ride at Sea World. I believe Universal can pull this off. It's about time they did something with the empty amphitheater.

The Secret Life of Pets Ride is confirmed to be in development, but not specified where or when.

Universal Hollywood seems most likely, since they are clearing out old soundstages for a new ride, in Orlando the most likely spot is in Islands of Adventure where the Toon Lagoon Theater is. But both are just rumors. Hollywood could potentially have it late next year or 2018, Orlando possibly 2018 if at all.
