Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I suspect the 50% limit is irrelevant anyway as I doubt they'll have enough guests wanting to go to hit 50%.

50% being of the absolute maximum as in new years day capacity levels I presume?
And I’m assuming that’s 50% of max capacity. Parks usually only hit actually max capacity (or close) on NYE so it’s probably not very limited at all. Best chance of ur feeling much less crowded is if ppl don’t go. But wdw could implement their own stricter guidelines.

Yeah i'm curious how this plays out for DVC rooms. I've only stayed in one bedrooms but there are full sets of dishes, pots, pans, cutlery, etc plus multi cup coffee pot, full fridge, it's an apartment. So are they taking all of that out?

Some people are talking about making guests wear masks all day, but those things are hard to breathe in even for an hour or two (I'm thinking of the homemade ones, which are the only ones most people are able to get.) I can't even imagine having to wear one for 10+ hours, and little kids will never keep them on. They'll be flying off the fast rides right and left. Just not realistic.

question is how do they do the 50%....vacas are booked and people payed....how do they tell some not to come? or am I missing something?

I bet it is quite the opposite, going to hit 50% easy. Look at the beaches that are open.
Without international guests? Extremely unlikely!

Beaches dont cost much to go to. Disney... costs a bit more.

Total guess work, but in my head an average June (non holiday day) maybe gets to 50 to 60% of those new years day capacity numbers. Take out international and those limited by economic hardship and those who just dont want to risk it - I think they'll be lucky to get 25% of capacity for a while.

I suspect it will be a recommendation for guests. For workers, it will probably be required for a bit. I'm sure those who work outside will be allowed breaks more often than usual.

so good shot crowds will be low when I go in late August early September? I can live with that!!! But I agree if limited to resort guests only and APs.

My fast pass window opens next Thursday for ten days in early July and I'm struggling with restructuring our trip. So many phased park opening rumors and modified experiences issues to contend with. We're at Bay Lake, so no issue there, but our current plans are heavy on HS days. I don't know what to do. Change to primarily MK days? Change our Savi's and Droid Depot res's to later in our trip? Remove Epcot from our plans entirely? Should I even bother with fast passes? This is driving me insane.
Plan your ideal trip. Adjust from there. Planning based on rumors makes no sense to me because there are too many rumors out there.

I definitely wouldn’t not plan. If you get to go you’d never forgive yourself for not snagging FP.

I keep thinking about deal breakers for wdw, but airlines may implement rules that will also be deal breakers for us. Flying with a 2 yr old is hard enough much less trying to keep a mask on him. We fly southwest. I am only booked with points so can easily cancel. I know it’s a fluid situation still, but I really wish companies would decide on their policies one way or another so we can make decisions. We can easily drive to wdw, but it would be quicker, more convenient, & cheaper to fly (usually). Also if wdw says no transportation then driving would be better for us. And I would change resorts. Ugh!

As of 8:00 a.m. this morning, Delaware required face masks for everyone while out in public. Children 12 and under are not required, and "Any child aged two years or less must not wear a face covering because of the risk of suffocation." That's from our governor's order. If that's medical advice here - that there's a documented risk of death - I can't imagine anywhere else requiring face masks for children 2 and under.

I think it could be 50 percent at any given time. Once they reach capacity at the gate for the time being, they close to new people. Not everyone is going to want to be in the park at the same time all the time. It’ll eb and flow throughout the day. Most likely resort guests will have priority due to their fixed stays.
