rucksack or laptop/briefcase bag

I've just bought a small rucksack which fits the new size hand luggage rules
but after reading another thread i'm not sure if i will be able to use this can anyone shed some light on this?

What other thread do you mean. I have bought one as well and as far as I can see as long as it fits the size there is no problem. Nothing on the govt site about it having to be a laptop bag rather tha a rucksack that I can see.
