Hi friends!

I'm planning a trip to Disneyland and I'd like to maximize my rides on RSR if possible since its my first time.

If I got to rope drop early enough such that I am one of the first to get an RSR Fastpass by let's say 8:05AM, could I then get into the standby line for RSR with little to no wait or will it already have ballooned to 30+ minutes? Does DCA usually let guests into attractions by 7:45 or so like at DHS?

I would be going on a non MM, non EMH day. And assuming the park opens at 8AM. And going on a weekday the week before Thanksgiving so I'm hoping it will be only moderately crowded

On a non EMH day they will let you in at 7:30 to rope drop for an 8AM opening. The rope closer to RSR will be replaced with RSR employees holding a long gas hose and they will walk the rope down to Carsland at park opening. This is to prevent a stampede of idiots running!

In my opinion the fastest way to ride RSR is single riders line from our experience.

Thanks! Do they actually start walking you up towards the ride at 7:30 or do they start at 7:45 or at 8:00?

Also if anyone else has any experience - can you get a Fast pass and ride standby with a really short wait?

No one goes anywhere until 8:00 when the park officially opens. There is an announcement and then the park opens. There is no getting in a bit early of any kind. I would not bother to stop and get a FP at opening if you want to ride the ride first thing - and stick to the right side of the rope.

Are you going to be with a group - otherwise if it's just you, I'd go single rider as I said before.

So I was there About a week ago for a couple days. One thing I noticed was that crowd gets walked to the ride at exactly opening time. Like earlier person said stay to the right of the rope. If you don't mind riding yourself than single rider will be the fastest that early in the morning. If you don't have magic morning I would suggest not being there that day. I went magic morning two days. The crowd goes straight to RSR. And it gets to be 60 minutes within 5 minutes of opening. Come back an hour later and it's a lighter crowd (30 minutes). Also remember with the fast pass if you get a late return time you can't get another fastpass until late too.

Thanks for the responses! I'm going with a friend, so it will be a party of 2 and we don't mind being split up.

Can we expect to walk on with single rider for the first hour? (8AM to 9AM) and maybe a short 10-15 wait for the rest of the day?

Walk on first hour probably, sometimes the single rider line can get longer than normal line later in the day. After 12 watch crowd entering line or ask a cast member. If single rider is beyond the cast member at the place where fastpass and regular line get crossed it will be a longer than 20 minute wait. I hope that makes sense. It does if you've been there a lot. Sorry.

I think that makes sense! If it's 20+ minutes, that means the single rider line is past the FP merge point right?

Will we be able to see the FP and standby merge point from the entrance, or will we have to walk through the queue to figure it out? Also, do we miss any of the queue/theming if we go on the single rider line?

Yes that's

Yes that's it. I've personally never actually seen the queue line cause i have alway had fp or baby swaps. But yes you miss some of it. You'll have to walk down to see the line if you don't ask at entrance.

Ahh I see. If we rope drop stand by, do you think we'll be able to see the entire queue, or will they skip some of it since the line is still short?

Hi,

I did single rider in the first hour in early september and it was virtually walk on. I rode it 5 times in the first hour. Later on there was a 5-10 minute wait.

You'd get to see the line if you went at rope drop. The best chance is get there either during magic morning and be there at least 30 invites before the extra hour or again during normal day get there 30 min before and again stay towards right of rope nearest the trolley stop. Then when they walk line you'd be in the right position to be less wait right off.

We have been there when the ride is at 90 minutes and have gotten on with single rider in about 10 minutes. It is faster than using a fast pass from our experience.

A lot of the queue is just switch backs, they will not have all of them open at first but will start opening them up as the line grows. A CM walks through the queue ahead of you so once in line then it'll take as long as it takes to walk what they have open. And they don't walk overly fast. There is not a great deal to see to be honest.
