RSR and EMH

Hello!

Just wanted to confirm if the wide right technique for entering CL still applies, if main entrance to DCA is still preferred over GCH entrance, and what time you would suggest arriving at the turnstiles for EMH?

Also, my boys really loved TSMM last year, so I was wondering if it made sense to ride RSR first upon EMH entry, then go to TSMM, then back to ride the other CL attractions. I just remember the lines for TSMM can get long quickly, and early.

I don’t know about wide rights and entrances.

But if it was me, and I had EMH at DCA, and I had max pass, then I would get a fastpass for TSMM upon entry, then ride racers until I was nauseous or the line started to pile up, then use my fast pass for TSMM and get another one as soon as I scanned in. Then assuming I had a wait for the second TSMM fastpass (if no wait, use it and then get a 3rd), I would do the other rides on the pier and in Paradise Gardens, then circle back to TSMM. Then head back to Cars Land (maybe with a fastpass for Racers depending on return times at this point and what else I wanted to
do) for the other rides.

I haven't seen anyone talk about the wide right technique for a while now. I know I used it many times over the years but in thinking back to last August I am not sure it was as necessary as it once was. We just sped walked (not like those runners who don't listen to cast members) and were not in the front of the line but we got through the line and rode the ride within 10 minutes of EMH starting. I think most people now just speed walk to try and get there; it didn't seem to bunch up like it used to in past years.

I would still use the main entrance over the GCH one; it has more capacity to move faster and you'll have already gone through bag check when you leave the hotel.

How old are your boys? During EMH, we make a beeline for TSMM, ride it 3-4 times in a row, then single rider RSR 1-2 times. As long as they are over 7 and don't mind riding without someone else in the same party, it's a great, quick option. As soon as your ticket is scanned in you can start grabbing Max Passes (with a return time of when the park opens to the public). So, you can grab one for RSR or TSMM and ride it again, or use it for Soarin', etc.

For EMH at DCA we always go to RSR 1st, as well as grabbing an MP for it. We then ride the other CL rides (if open), before heading to TSMM, still well within the EMH. We ride that twice before heading back to RSR for our FP. We could probably easily ride TSMM a couple more times before worrying about lines, but our arms/hands can’t take it. We’re a little too aggressive pulling the rope on the TSMM shooter to do more than twice in a row.

If you decide to use SR for RSR or any of the other rides that have it, don't forget to discuss what to do if you all get split up and the ride goes down, if you all exit at different times, and if someone exits while others are still stuck on the ride, etc. Make sure the boys understand where they are to wait for you, that they are not to leave without you and that you will not leave without them, and that they have your cell phone number. It's rare for families to get split up on rides for an extended period of time, but it can happen. So it just helps if everyone knows what to do (and what not to do) ahead of time.
