Our trip has gone pretty good so far, we just checked into our beautiful resort today! We are staying at the club level, and we love it! We stayed the first night at the Embassy Suites near the airport, to save some money. We didn't pick up the mini van until today. After picking up the van, we decided to stop at Walmart on the way to Universal to pick up a few necessities. We checked in about 1p, and was told that our room wasn't ready yet. We decided to check out the resort, andi headed up to the club level lounge. I was chatting with the lounge staff, and they looked up our reservation and saw that our room was ready! Tst The staff from the concierge had our bags brought up (nice!) and we got unpacked and settled in. We decided to head to Universal Studios! We rode on Shred 4D first, then we just wandered and tried MIB *Note, I was the high scorer of the family, 93,000! First try ever! Me, chicken mom, one who won't get on anything scarier than Dumbo!! I also went on the rollercoaster (Woody's, but hey, I'm scared of those too) ET (cute, but darker and more foreboding than I thought) Jaws (scared poor 8 yr old son to death) and Jimmy Neutron, which I hated, too jerky and movey (is that a word?) was making me dizzy!!! I was glad to get off of it. Back to the resort for swimming and relaxing. Went to the lounge earlier to have free drinks and yummy appetizers; chips, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, fried wontons w/spicy sweet and sour dip, crispy veggies w/dip, very ogod appetizers! Well we are having a great time so far, will write another report tomorrow before my 24 hrs runs out on this internet charge!! Goodinght to you all from the Powells at the Royal Pacific!!

Thank you for keeping us posted. Sounds like you are having fun! We love the RPR. Would love to try Club level next time. Food sounds great. I loved Jimmy Neutron but can see how it can make you sick.

Thanks again for sharing!

 Spidey! We are probably going to be riding the Spidey and my husband and daughter will be doing the Hulk,! We are off to have our continental breakfast to have our fruit and tropical breads and drinks! Today its IOA day, so I jst wanted to let you know..will write with the report of the park and our day later...want to eat at Mythos for lunch, at least that is the plan right now...we love this place so far, everyone is super friendly. Had dinner delivered to the room last night, (late late, almost midnight) I got a very yumy chicken noodle soup (oriental style) with crispy peas, green bean pods, celery, green onions, thick noodles, it was very good! My kids had kids meals, toasted cheese and a very delicious cheeseburger (surprising for a kids meal) and with 2 drinks (chocolate mlk and ginger ale) it was $41 with tax and tip. Not bad for 4 of us to eat (husband shared with us) The snacks in the lounge earlier in the evening helped to curb oppetite...But we did spend $24 on hot dogs earlier during lunch at the park! Well, I'll write more later! We are anxous to start our day...:Pinkbounc

I'm so glad your enjoying Universal and RPR! Sounds like a great vacation so far. Keep us posted and enjoy! How is the weather? Make sure you have a look around the other 2 hotels. Have you been to the pool yet? Enjoy! :)

Chicken mom- Don't do Back to the Future if you thought Jimmy was too jerky! If you MIB again just hold the trigger down the whole ride and you will beat your last score. Way to go Mom!!!

alaskantwinks-

You are riding my two most favorite rides!!!! Have fun. I read your reports and think of everything we did when we were on our trip. So glad you are enjoying it. If you don't mind, would you let us know what club level is serving each day? We are thinking of doing club at RPR and I wonder what's all there.

Thanks again and have fun!

Can't wait to read more!

Oh my, it sounds like you are really having fun. Good for you!

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Hi there :)

I was so happy to see your report posted, so glad you had fun at Universal.

>>^..^<<

We're home, back to the land of snow and ice! We got back to AK Friday night, took a very long flight (6.5 hours) from Chicago nonstop to Anchorage. We got there at 10p, overnighted and came home to Bethel the following night, so we have been home for 4 nights now. We didn't come straight back to Alaska from Orlando, so that helped with the time/temperature change. After the Florida trip, we headed to Missouri for about 4 days to visit relatives before heading back. We flew from St. Louis to Chicago, but ended up sitting on the jet for 20+ minutes because they couldn't get the jetway straightened out! Apparently it was shy about 3 feet. They finally got it fixed, and than we zoomed out of there so we could experience ORD airport, since I heard it was really neat. I wish we could have had more time there, in fact, I'd love to visit the city sometime!

To answer JessicaR's questions, the weather was PERFECT the whole time we were in Orlando! It couldn't have been better. I think it rained once in the 2 weeks we were in the area, for about 10 minutes. It was 85-88 degrees each day. It was hot for us, we were melting from the heat, but it felt nice!! Drank a lot of water, thank goodness we stayed on club level, and were able to take the water bottles!! We probably drank $200 worth or more!! Yes I went to the Hard Rock and took pics., also went to Portofino the day I had my spa visit, but wished I could have looked around there more. At the Hard Rock, one of the bell boys took me to a couple of rooms, the kids suites sure are cool!! If only they would have a half price special!! The Portofino had just opened up their club level lounge while we were there, so I wished I could have seen it! The pool area at Hard Rock was very nice. I did enjoy the laid back atmosphere of the RPR better though, I love the 30's-40's music that was playing constantly throughout the resort, it was so relaxing! The lobby was so nice too, with the thached roof appearance. I met a lot of people from England, I think it was their school holiday while we were there. Love the accents!!

JOC, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did, we loved it!! Have fun!! :wave2:

Alaska, did you get to meet Kawelo in the RPR club lounge? Also, were there any steel drummers around the pool when you were there? I loved hearing/watching them in July!

Kawelo is moving back to Hawaii, he was working in the evenings with Michelle (I think that was her name) she was so great too. Everyone in there was wonderful. I miss the lounge staff! I wish I could have taken them home! No steel drum band around the pool, but on the Wonder cruise, there was one! Had the trip of a lifetime! Wish we could go back sometime this year again! What's it like in late May/early June anyone?? Just curious! Is is that much hotter than October? When we were there, it was 85-88 degrees each day. Kelly

:worried: rats........ well, can't blame him I guess. RPR is gorgeous, but not compared to Hawaii.
