RPR one night just for FOTL ???

Has anyone ever booked on-site hotel just to get FOTL and not really stay in the room? We went last year and stayed at HRH for 4 days so we were really spoiled with FOTL. Going this year for Disney but I'd love to fit in 2 days for Universal but do not want to have to stand in lines all day in the August heat. Paying extra for the express pass seems almost as much as one night at RPR ($245) for 4 adults.
Any suggestions???

Yes, people do it all the time. But with 4 adults you will have to pay the $25 per adult fee over the first 2 in a room.

I'm with you on the August heat and standing in lines. If you can swing it, do it!

Technically not 4 adults. My kids are teens-just meant to know that I do not have little kids. Thank you for the info. Hopefully the economy holds and if I pick up a few extra shifts I can swing it!!
We really loved Universal last year although HP was a madhouse US was not bad at all and The Hulk was my favorite ride!!
