My wife and I bring our family to Orlando twice a year. We have always had our kids along. We were able to plan a trip,(July 16-18) celebrating our 10th anniversary and my better half's 40th birthday. We started out this adventure by spending two nights at the RPH.

Over the years we have stayed mainly at Disney properties but our fondness has grown for the Lowes hotels. After a 9 hour drive we arrived at the RPH around 11:30am. We had an entertainment rate of $119.00 and upon check-in we were upgraded to a pool view room. The room was not ready but while my wife waited for our room keys I ventured over to the concierge. I ordered chocolate covered strawberries and a botltle of champagne at 9:00pm for our anniversary. This was very easy and the staff was very polite.

If you plan to stay at the Lowes hotels it pays you to invest in an entertainment card. We have always gotten good rates with this card. We also took advantage of the Flordia Burger King coupon, buy one year annual pass get one year free. Since our room was not ready we left our bags at the hotel and went straight to the parks. After getting our yearly pass pictures we rode all of the rides that we wanted to. The FOTL pass is a feature that draws us to stay at the Lowes hotel. How much is it worth not to wait in long lines? To us it is worth alot. Besides the lovely hotels this is a great feature.

We went back to see if our room was ready after lunch and it was ready. We were given a very nice pool view room with a king bed. The room was beautiful and had a very soft king bed. The lobby at the RPH is very nice and very large. The staff was very polite. We went back to the parks and came back to clean up for dinner. The room service person tried to deliver our stawberries and champange at 6:00pm. I headed him off at the pass and told him to come back at 8:00pm. We went and ate dinner at Jimmy Buffets and the food was excellent. After this we walked around City Walk and it was very crowded as was the parks that day.

Well, 8:00 pm came and went with no treats. At 8:30pm the person delivered our strawberries and champange and it was a great touch to a memorable day. He also delivered our Lowes first treat also. One thing Universal has added is the fireworks show. We found a good view at the sand volleyball court between the pool and the lagoon. We sat in the chairs and had t the place to ourselves and it was a good fireworks show.

The next day we got up early and walked to the HRH and then to the RPH. We ate breakfast there and the went to the parks. We decided to spend the afternoon at the pool. It was very hot but the pool was very nice change of pace and it is a GREAT break from the heat and crowds. The pool is great for kids with the boat area. We ate breakfast the next AM in the bar and they have a very good choice for breakfast at very good prices.

We drove to the Polly at Disney to see how the RPH compared to it. The RPH was more beautiful and cleaner. I do not know about the rooms though. The price is alot less at the RPH. We have now stayed at all three Lowes hotels. Each has their own qualities and it is hard to choose from. The PBH is top class and the HRH is not far behind. It is alot like eating, one time you may want pasta, the next steak and then island food. We have already planned a fall trip at the HRH.

Congrats on your anniversary.
