RPH--5 in a room...blow up or roll-away?

We're totally insane, but my girlfriend and I are going to take our girls to Universal for Spring Break. We were able to get a room at RPH for the 5 of us (2 adults, 2 teenagers & one 11 yr old.) We'll be there for 4 nights and understand the crowds will be massive. My teenager and I have been many times, but a first time for the others.

We've traveled together before, even did Disney a couple years ago.

My question---would you recommend we bring our own blow-up mattress for the 5th person or reserve a roll-away? I'm not counting on there being a pull-out sofa in the room as we booked a standard room.

Thanks!

Oh, you are all going to have a fabulous time. We love RPR :thumbsup2

There are five in our family and my DDs always share one of the beds and we always bring our blow up aerobed for our DS (10). It works out great because during the day we just stand it up against the wall so it is out of the way. If you get a roll away not only will it cost you more money per day but it will also take up alot of room and will probably be in the way.

Don't worry too much about the crowds because with FOTL you won't be waiting in any lines. We went last year at the end of June (peak season) and even then we didn't have to hardly wait in any lines.

Have a great time!

We hired a rollaway bed at HRH & found it didn't get in the way. It just filled the gap between the 2nd bed & the window.

The HRH rooms are a little bigger than RPH so the rollaway fits a little better in HRH. We took a twin aerobed twice. I don't think a full size would fit anywhere but maybe some else here has tried it. On the last night of the second trip, the bed developed a hole and my niece had a very uncomfortable night! Five in a room is doable, but crowded and totally worth it for FOTL. Oh, and as someone else mentioned, the aerobed was great to stand up against the wall during the day to open up more space in the room.

I was told they did not have rollaways at RP, just sofa beds.......of course i was told this after we were in the room !

We reserved the roll-a-way. We'd, of course, prefer a sofabed at no cost, but doubt our chances of getting one with the hotel being as crowded as it will be.

Thanks for your help everyone.

Feel like we're being nickel & dimed to death....

Boy, you got that right!!

(we love spiderman! I had to force myself to keep my eyes open when we were falling down, straight down between the buildings. Thank goodness the web caught us! we went on that ride 3 times)

There wouldn't be a sofa bed in a double queen room anyways at RPR. The rooms are not large enough. I suggest an inflatable bed. It will save you a ton of money in the long run. Most hotels are going to charge you extra for a rollaway.

The parking is another matter. Just console yourself with the amount of money and time you will be saving with FOTL. Make sure you show your AAA card to get food and merchandise discounts. That savings adds up really quickly and will help to offset your parking charges.
