Royale Parc Suites - anyone stayed here?

I have booked 8 nights here, but have read some reviews that now make me question my choice. Has anyone stayed at this property recently? While we won't be spending a lot of time at our hotel, I do want our accomodations to be clean and decent. Since we have two teenagers (boy and girl) we loved the idea of having two bedrooms/baths. Any opinions?

I've also been considering this hotel after seeing a deal offered for it on travelzoo. For some reason it does not appear in the 2010 Unofficial Guide, even though UG rates many other accommodations of this sort. It does sound better than the Comfort Suites on Turkey Lake Road, which I've used before and which was pretty good, since the Royale Parc's bedding is superior. Also travelzoo's link claims that the Royale Parc had a renovation in 2007. I'd still feel better if the UG had a rating for it. :worried:

**Update** My mistake: the UG's review is listed under Quality Suites Royal Parc Suites (they left out the "e" in Royale, but the street address matches up). The UG awards 4 1/2 stars and a room quality rating of 95, both excellent.

We have stayed at RPS for the past 7 years, and I really believe it has gone downhill a bit. We used to LOVE it and recommend it to everyone, but now I'm not so sure. Here are my latest thoughts:
We always get a 2 room suite, which is huge and great for larger families. The rooms are usually very clean and quiet, and its a great location for anything you might need (next to Old Town, good restaurants, Target/Walmart, Walgreens). They have a nice continental breakfast and an afternoon managers special (free drinks by the pool). I have always felt that we were getting a great value for what we were paying.
That said, our very last stay was a bit of a disappointment. We had a 2 room suite that really wasn't clean. The bed sheets had small stains :scared1:, and the heater/air conditioning made a terrible noise during the night. We called the next am to have the noise fixed, but the next night, it happened again. We had to complain a 2nd day to finally get it fixed. It just wasn't up to the standards we were used to. Once we returned home, I complained to management about our issues again, but got no response. Housekeeping was also quite rude this time.
Overall, in the past 7 years, we've always loved this hotel. Our last experience (Nov. 2009) was out of sorts. I think we would stay again, knowing how nice it has been in the past.
Good luck with your choice. If you want to know more, just PM me anytime. I hope you have a great stay!!

We stayed 5 nights last Nov, and didn't have a bit of trouble with our room (2 bdrm, King+2Dbls). It was always cleaned well and looked just like the online photos. Beds were very comfy, but the sofa wasn't very soft (but I know sofa beds are usually stiff).

The only thing I thought was lacking was variety in the breakfast, but I wasn't going to argue with a free buffet! Only once the 24-hr coffee bar had cold contents and some dispensers were empty when I stopped by, but managment got right on it when I brought it to her attention.

We wouldn't hesitate to stay again for a non-Dis visit! Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for your feedback!! It sounds like it is worth the gamble this trip. :thumbsup2 We stayed there in 2003 in their 1 room suite and thought is was fine. The mixed reviews just made me a little nervous. Nothing is worse than staying in room that doesn't look or feel clean. That said, I also tend to think that sometimes people put up with problems rather than asking for those things to be remedied. We will hope that our 2 bedroom (just like the one you stayed in!!) is as nice as it is pictured!! Sorry to hear, however, that the management didn't respond to a customer who has been so loyal to them. Wonder what Choice Hotels would say about that???!!

Its funny you mention that because we did contact Choice Hotels about our stay. They never responded!! We've always given them such great reviews in the past, that it was quite disappointing!
On the other hand, we had a bad experience at Nick Hotel one year also (after staying there quite a few times too!) and they sent us a huge "We're sorry" basket with all sorts of stuff for the kids! That's the way customer service should work when things don't go as they are supposed to. :thumbsup2
