I know some of you dissers were going to be staying at the royal plaza in DTD this October. I am looking for some fresh reviews (saw the ones from early September) I have a poolside room booked. Any comments or suggestions ?

I'll be there in 10 days:cheer2: :cheer2: , staying in a tower room, but will try to peek into the poolside rooms for you and Russell. I will take lots of pictures and post.....

Thanks rosiep. We will be there on Nov.1st for only four days. Have a conference at the Hlton (Dont know how much of that I will actually attend HEE-HEE ) but could not resist mousesavers dealsat royal plaza. Will you still be down there at that time? hope you have fun.

I will be there. If you see two women..one with a Tinkerbell backpack and a dangling lime green Mickey Head....be sure to say Hello!

subscribing.....we will be there on 11/22/07 and 11/23/07 so I would like to hear some recent reports as well.

We just stood there on Oct.4th-9th with free breakfast buffet.:yay:
The rooms are very nice as was the staff. When we went out to the pool bar party: for a drink:drinking1 we found that they closed like around 5:00 maybe, then you have to go inside and get drinks:drinking1 from there. That seemed very strange to me, why would you close the pool bar? :confused3 Also, the rooms seemed cool to me and if we turned the fan off the room got too hot but the fan in our room seemed a bit noisy to me. Overall we enjoyed our stay there and would recommend them to anyone, but, it's just not "Disney". My sister missed the Pop Century since that's where we usually stay. But please don't take this as a criticism, like I said, I would recommend this hotel for sure.

Thanks for the update!! How was the transportation to the parks? We plan on taking the bus to the MK on Friday morning.

We had a rental car, but the buses seemed pretty consistent. That was another issue with staying there instead of at the Pop. We had to PAY for parking. Ouch!!

Thanks for the review, I have actually had then pool bar experience at a timeshare before. While there in October it wasnever open.I guess they feel it doesnt get enough business at thast time of year. Rosie p I will be looking out for your backpack. I will be thee with a smile on my face (or looking lost) as this is a trip without my children and with just grownups...my DS and a first-timer . Thanbk goodness we have APs ---freee parking

I remember the first time I went on vacation without my children.....I felt naked!!! But....now that they're truly grown...I've gotton used to it and I enjoy it quite a bit!

When I was there in August (busy season) the pool bar was closed! No food or drinks offered, the pool was tiny and filled with crazy kids running and jumping into the pool. They have NO lifeguard. It was very dirty there. I had to keep such an eye on my kids, as there were so many kids running around.
When I reserved the room, I was told they had lifeguards. They didn't. I only stayed one night, then moved to the Dolphin (I was glad).
To be fair, the room we had was fine (an exec suite) for me and my two kids. The bedroom part was TINY, just room for the king bed really. But the bed was comfy. And we got some simple room service, as we were tired from travel, and it was fine, just some sandwiches.
