I read the FAQ threads but do not see this addressed directly. What are the main differences, other than location?

I beleive Royal Palm is the main building with that grand lobby area with all the shops and restraunts .... sugar loaf has a much smaller lobbly no shops or restraunts

the concierge thread said that Sugarloaf does not have wine at twilight. is this still correct? It was an older post.

As far as wine is concerned. You can go over to the Royal Palm lounge if you want a glass.

We've stayed in both. I prefer the Royal Palm. It's just so nice to go out of your door and be in that beautiful lobby. And when the band is playing, you can sit in your room and listen as the music wafts into your room.

One of our favorite activities was to people watch ouride our door on the 5th floor. It's wonderful.

The SugarLoaf is just as nice. WE just didn't feel as connected to the goings on.

That make sense?

You get exactly the same offerings for food and drinks in RPC and in Sugar Loaf. If you are staying in RPC, you can get into the Sugar Loaf building. If you are staying in SL, you do not have access to RPC.

As others have said, the offerings are the same for both. Both club levels are nice, but there's nothing like staying RPC and being in the main building. If I didn't stay RPC, I would book a regular GV over SL, but that's just me. When I stayed in SL, I thought the lounge was kind of crowded and there didn't seem to be alot of seats/tables for the number of people. But with that said, the offerings were great. RPC is more spacious and the views from the lounge are beautiful.

I have never stayed in SL, although I have stayed in RPC and in an outer building, as Explodo said, we just did not feel as connected in the outer building. The main building is so full of excitement and energy and the outer buildings are small and quiet. With that said, I have followed the GF FAQ thread for a few years and my understanding has always been that the amenities are the same between the two, with perhaps one minor change in menu.

Having stayed on both levels, we prefer the Main Building. It is so nice to get off of the monorail and just head over to the elevators to access the room instead of having to go downstairs and then head out to Sugar Loaf......

I liked both for different reasons. While it is very nice to stay in the Main building for the Royal Palm Club, access to the stores and the Monorail being the biggest plus, it was also nice for us to stay in Sugarloaf.

The best part for us of Sugarloaf was having the courtyard pool right outside the doors. It was a lot easier to go to the pool for the day and it wasn't as awkward as walking through the GF lobby in a bathing suit.

The food offerings, the service, and the rooms were every bit as nice if that helps. I did see wine at Sugarloaf as well as the other foods that I had seen the year before at RPC. I guess it all boils down to whether or not you want the atmosphere of the Main building or the atmosphere of Sugarloaf. :)

You're correct. each has it's own benifits. I've stayed in both. If you can swallow the cost, the RPC is great. The band and the piano player are great while you enjoy evening snacks. It's a short walk from the monorail. Since the food and evening cordial offerings are the same at both, I chose SL. The room sizes are the same (except for siutes) so I get more bang for my buck at SL.

Between the 2 I've only stayed in the RPC and O.M.G!!!!! Opening your door to the grand lobby is AMAZING...at Christmas time, even more so! I'll NEVER forget that trip!
