just back from one night/two days(sat/sun) with my 13 yo son to universal. we stayed at royal pacific one night to get the fotl access and check out the on site resorts. we were blown away at the degree of luxury afforded by this resort. we were in a standard view florida resident rate of 159.00 total.. 186.00 with parking, tax and a? mini bar tax ? we didnt even use the mini, can anyone explain that one
we took time to have coffee at 10 pm after the parks closed and enjoyed the quite, elegant atmosphere of the lounge in the lobby, the large wicker chairs were quite comfortable. also took in details such as the hand carved wood inlays throughout the resort. cms were very friendly, water taxi's were great, swing and big band music made the trips enjoyable, the boat cap'n kept calling the resort the royal pacifier. we even took the walkway on the last day it was a nice 7 min walk to IOA. had the breakfast buffet in the am. on sunday, good but limited selection.
park crowds were murder even with fotl, most express waits were 10-20 min yet we were still able to do everything numerous times. most regular lines were 75-90 min on sat and sunday, "those people" (yes we are now fotl snobs) were standing in lines all day cursing the express line upper crust, smugly sauntering by as if we were the Howells on Gilligans Island, come lovey, more champagne anyone?
we rode mummy 5 times luv'd it, mib 3 times, hulk and spidey twice. fotl was however as everyone has feared, one time use until after 3 pm then unlimited on the following rides
