Royal Me This, Royal Me That ~ Disney in December, How About That? *Update 6-1* P26

Mutiny??? You mean you aren't going to France? Mais la champagne! Mais les escargots et les patisseries! Je ne comprends pas. :lmao:

Can't wait to see how this one turns out. ;)

And I love the purse -- too cute!

Mais no, madamoiselle. Je desire la patience, s'il vous plait. ;)

Boy, is my French rusty. :lmao:

The day is long my dear. That's all I'm saying. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 As always another great update TK. Love your new purse.

Thank you! I actually used the purse on date night, it went quite well with jeans and my black top. :thumbsup2

Wow...

2 updates! :)

You are trying to please your fans, right! To not hit "unsubscribe"...right!

Nice updates, both of them!

I am so glad you enjoyed Soarin...that is on my must do list. (Which I think you are keeping track of, right?!) :rotfl:

I am wondering, though, did you happen to see any wheelchairs on that ride? Is there a way for someone to enjoy that ride in a wheelchair? We were not sure when we took Lauren, but never got to Epcot anyway. I just wondered if you saw one.

Bless your heart...The royal fit, huh! :) But I am glad you got him to sleep. And some time to yourself. It is good. Time to yourself. I think I will plan some on my next trip!

I can't wait to see where your pirate self took yourself! :) (Gosh...that was an interesting sentence!)

It is not the kind of attraction that you can put a wheelchair on unfortunately. You have to be able to transfer.

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/guides/epcot/epfw-soarin.htm
"Lastly, on the negative front, guests who use wheelchairs and cannot transfer to a ride vehicle seat will not be able to experience this attraction, as there is no way to accommodate a wheelchair on the ride vehicles. disAbled access to the attraction, however, is good, with wide, gently sloping ramps throughout the queue area, and ample room to maneuver a wheelchair inside the ride theater. You just have to be able to get into the theater seats once you're inside."

Enjoyed the update TK--love the purse--I'm just like you with rides so I'm happy you took the risk for your son. I did Soarin' too and while it still makes me a little nervous I do enjoy it. The things we will do for our kids. :)

I think I'll try that line on DH next time. "I want something new...something different."

So glad you "enjoyed" Soarin'!!!! But it can be a little overwhelming without an armrest to grip at certain points I completely AGREE!!! Can't wait for more!

Not as bad as mine.....I can read it but can't write it anymore.

You can't imagine how hard it was for me to come up with those few words, and I was too lazy to get up and go hunt for my French/English dictionary. :rotfl:

Why, thank you.

But of course, my dear! Soarin', Wishes...

I see this already got answered for you. I was just going to say it looked to me like a ride that you had to transfer to, because of the way that you're seated.

Bless your heart...The royal fit, huh! :) But I am glad you got him to sleep. And some time to yourself. It is good. Time to yourself. I think I will plan some on my next trip!

Oy. And I have no idea who he gets that from. :rolleyes

I can't wait to see where your pirate self took yourself! :) (Gosh...that was an interesting sentence!)

Reminds me of "Allow myself to introduce....myself." :lmao:

Thank you! And you're right.

Although I'm sure at some point, I'll be drawing the line. "Mama, puh-lease go on Expedition Everest with me..." :confused3

HA! Happy to know my toddler's turn of phrase could possibly benefit you. :lmao:

I really had to use every ounce of will power I had not to panic.

You know, I didn't even think of that, and I have two. What's wrong with me? :upsidedow

I've about reached the point of being able to turn down my kids on those requests. They aren't as cute when they are 13 asking! I have done my share of Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Expedition Everest, and Rock-n-Roller Coaster. I draw the line at Tower of Terror. Momma loves you but not that much.

Thank you for the info!! :)

It is sort of coming back to me now...

I think we had thought we might put her on it and put her between us. We had a strap for her.

Hopefully her mom and I will be able to check it out on our "investigational, we are going to run a race" trip...if we can ever get dates! :)

So I felt refreshed after my call to DH. Thank goodness I had my lovely pirate husband to talk to and remind me that life was still life, savvy?

So I was free. I had a sleeping toddler in an easily pushable stroller. I knew Mom and Nana would be getting their shop on and that they could easily spend some time in Guerlain. So I wasn't worried. I knew they wouldn't be offended. And I also knew that if I didn't seize some time for myself, I was going to go a lot more pirate than royal, and that just may not have been good. Unless there was rum involved. By the by, I had no buzz really from my margarita. It was very, very nice, but I wasn't tipsy.

That may have been better.

But not really, because I was in charge of the little nut. ;)

So I figured, looking at the time, that I was well within the window for the Visa Meet and Greet. I also knew that it was highly unlikely that Mom and Nana would be heading back toward the front of the park that day. We'd been there, done that, and I figured after dinner in France, they'd most likely want to enjoy the countries and then skedaddle.

So I started a gentle stroll (so much nicer than power walking with your cranky toddler) towards Innoventions. And when I get to the meet and greet area, what to my wondering eyes did appear?

A big...fat...line.

Well, I should have known. I mean, it was smack in the middle of the window of opportunity.

I jumped in the line anyway. Pirate. pirate:

I mean, HRH was sleeping, so I was good. And then I heard the whispers. The wait was 45 minutes to an hour.

Oh, well, I thought.

I know. I know.

Who wants to slap me on the wrist for ditching my mother and grandmother?

Let's just say that I did try to call them several times. Honestly, I did. My mother's phone went to voicemail. I don't think they heard it. And when I was in Innoventions, the reception was dodgy at best.

So I did what any self-respecting pirate would do.

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I waited in that line. I chatted with the other families around me. I joked about him being asleep.

I didn't care if he woke up. Not. At. All. If he slept through it, I was fine. Honestly. I needed that time. A little break. Something new, something different for TK, if you will.

Eventually it was my turn, and I got to go in.

HOLY CABOOSES!!!!

Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo :goofy:

Hot dog, hot dog, hot diggity dog!

I was so excited. HRH was still sleeping, and I told them that. And I asked if it was okay, if I was enough? And they all nodded their heads vigorously, Goofy the charmer kissing my hand, and whatnot. They were fantastic guys. Fantastic.

We did some traditional poses, and I gave the CM my camera to take some as well. Then we all crowded around HRH's stroller, held on finger to our lips, and did the "shh" pose.

And then, I stepped away, to let the characters do one like that on their own.

And then it happened.

One of the funniest moments I have ever had in Disney World.

HRH woke up! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

And there were three characters standing over him. And they were surprised.

And I was internally panicked, but didn't freak on the outside because I didn't want to him to be scared. We all stood there. I swear, you could have heard a pin drop. I have a picture of it, of course. Because although I am concerned about HRH's reaction of having Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy wake him up from his nap, I knew that this was prime photo material.

The look on his face. I swear, it's priceless. It's a combo of where am I, why are they are here, and what are we doing? It's SO cute. And then, because we could all breathe a giant sigh of relief that HRH was okay, the CMs and myself laughed. And they took another pose, with the characters acting surprised, and HRH still has that look on his face. God bless him. He was a good sport for a kid that just woke up.

Well, we bid our fond farewells and headed back out into the world of royalty. Ready to reconnect with the ladies.

Now, obviously, Mom and Nana had some fun of their own while we were off in Meet and Greet land. Here are some of their photos from the afternoon.

Up next - What next?

Called it. Do I get a prize? If I do I want an email of that wake-up picture of HRH. If that was my kid, we'd all need therapy!!

I love what you did with your pirate time. That must have been hysterical when HRH woke up. :rotfl2: I wonder what he was thinking?!

Great moment. And looks like mom and nana had a good afternoon too. WS is so beautiful with all the holiday decorations.

Sounds like a good afternoon all around so I'm sure what's next is something good. At least I hope it is. But then I remember you saying something about Chef's... :rolleyes1

popcorn::

Hon, I was shocked when you called it. I couldn't believe it. I mean, I know we're friends, but my goodness, do you know me! :lmao:

I will consider your request for a prize. It's actually pretty difficult to see his face in the photo, but I still didn't want to post it on the internet, you know? :goodvibes

One can only imagine. You know, I could show him the photo and ask him. :lmao:

It was very pretty...from what I saw. :lmao: I walked through so much of it so quickly, I'm afraid I didn't really get to enjoy the decor as much as later that evening.

I don't even know how to respond. There are good points to every evening, right? :lmao:

I had a couple of chapters I had to catch up on!!

First of all...awesome for going on Soarin!! I love that ride and way to conquer your fear and have that moment with HRH!!!

Secondly, I knew your inner pirate would come out at some point...YAY for Mutiny and yay for a nap LOL!!!! Your son sounds so adorable LOL!!!

I had a DH moment like that during my trip where I really really just missed him and needed to tell him I loved him and missed him. Yay for great DHs!!

Love the character interaction, I can imagine how priceless that moment must have been for you and most likely for HRH. How awesome to wake up and be in the presence of Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy!! That is so cool!

Well can't wait to hear more!!!

Thank God it was cool. That moment could have gone south so quickly. :lmao:

Okay, DS waking up from his nap with all three characters looming over him -- priceless!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

I swear, it's one of the funniest things I've ever seen at Disney. And the character reactions were priceless as well.

You are such the pirate! pirate:

Just getting to meet Mickey, Minnie and Goofy at the same time is awesome!

But your sweet peanut waking up to their smiling faces...that IS priceless! pixiedust:

Can't we have a ZZUB moment...and maybe just get his sweet EYES? I bet they were the size of saucers! :)

What a precious moment. :goodvibes

So...did your Mom and Nana get to sit in Santa's lap? :santa:

Actually, you can't see his face terribly well in the photo. It's more that my memory of it is so strong. I will never, ever forget that face. :lmao:

No, but if I had been there, I so would have. Why not, right? :goodvibes
