I'm trying to figure out a good spot for a breakfast pastry and coffee, and I've heard good things about this place in Asia. Since I want to go to the first "Finding Nemo" show, this would be a convenient spot to sit and have my breakfast. Is it open and serving pastries? Will it be crowded with post-Expedition Everest riders? Where else in AK might you recommend for a good breakfast pastry and coffee?

We always go for breakfast at the Kusafiri Coffee Shop and Bakery. It is located near the safari so it's perfect for us, we always run and grab FP for KS and then have a nice relaxing breakfast. They had great pastries when we were there, the coffee was typical Disney coffee, I don't remember them having any tea.

I'm going on a weekend solo trip in January and I'm planning to do the very same thing! I was inspired by this awesome blog post by AJ on the Disney Food Blog:

From the sound of the blog post, it's open at rope drop. Can't wait to sit and relax with some morning tea!:goodvibes

Thanks for the link! And I loove AK so much that if my arthritis doesn't complain, I'm planning on 2 days at AK and Kusafari sounds like an option for the second day. Where do you sit to eat if you go there? And do you remember the name of some pastry people recommended? All I remember if that it has the name of an animal (elephant, giraffe?) in the name-a cupcake, I think.
