Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

Oh yes, I remember that one. Love it! I want Chip and Joanna to come and redo my house and then just hang out with me and tell me stories. :)

I have a question @DopeyBadger or anyone else who has an opinion.

Tonight is tempo night and it's a blind one. It is still up in the air if I'll be able to go do it outside or not just based on when everyone gets home from work/when it gets dark, etc etc.

However I have the morning off tomorrow. So I can run my tempo run in the morning outside & blind.

My main question: Is running a tempo on Friday morning, then my easy miles on Saturday and then my short 4 mile LR on Sunday be too much of back to back to back?
OR would it be ok since the difference between a 9pm run on Thur night and a 7am-ish run on Friday morning isn't really that huge? And since my long run isn't really very long this weekend? I'm hoping I get a nap in on Friday too if the nap-gods are willing and my kiddo participates.

Thoughts?

I'd say go ahead and do the Tempo on Friday morning. You'll get more benefit of a blind run outside than on the treadmill. The time consideration is a good one, but think also of the "number of sleeps" between runs as well. Because during sleep (and primarily deep sleep occurring between hours 7-8) is when the most recovery takes place. But because this is a step back 4 mile LR, you shouldn't have any big issues from three days in a row with two/three relatively easy ones.

Ok, I guess that covers what I was thinking too. I will prepare my mind for Tempo tonight in case the stars align and hubby gets home while its daylight, etc. But then I'll also know Friday is an acceptable option if I go out early. And then I really won't feel guilty for napping tomorrow; cause it's for the good of my training...or something :)

Okay, so ... I'm gone for a few days and I miss The Awkward Yeti taking over your journal? I have a love/hate relationship with that comic ... it's kinda funny, but sometimes really weird too. Like, why are all of the internal organs having conversations? And why are they so cute at the same time?
(Sorry, these are actual thoughts that go through my head)

Also - I agree with @DopeyBadger on the tempo run timing. Three days in a row should be fine if they're mostly easy miles. I wouldn't do it with a Sunday 10-miler, but for the 4-mile LR, you'll be fine. Your body can handle it.

Newsflash....I got a HM bib with only three digits which is kinda awesome! Although I didn't quite make it into A (2:04 or less is just too speedy for me!) I will be partying it up in B!

I'm super happy and excited and still very proud of myself. And turns out I didn't need to run my 15k so fast, but I'm sure glad I pushed myself anyways :)

Congratulations! B is for Beautiful or Best or something. My inability to determine what is why I'm not a race announcer in Disney.

Congrats! Ack, that means it's almost here!!! FUN!

I hate that you know your corral and I don't because I don't wanna run a half :P. Congrats!

Haha, yeah my last disney race I was relegated to finding out at the expo which is bad for an impatient person like me. But on the bright side you get to stop running at 6.2 miles and I have to keep going!!! :P

My last Disney race (aka my first race ever) I was confident I'd have lousy corral placement so I didn't even worry about it. This one I'm hoping for better!

I feel no need to run more than 6.2 miles ever in life. But I applaud those who do :cheer2:.
