Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

Those are a continuation of the series called Kingdom Keepers. I have read the first four in the original series so far. I tried to get DS10 to read them but he didn't care for them. However I really enjoyed them. I loved that were set mainly in the parks (WDW, DL and DCL). I felt like that made it easy to picture what was happening. I would definitely recommend them if your looking for an easy fun read.

I'm always looking for good airplane books that are easy and quick. Maybe I'll pick one up for my flight to Cali.

Phone and fuel in the pockets? Maybe some Body Glide to get them to stick in place? And possibly try one size down for your next skirt, skinny mini. :)

I really, really like Yoga Bunny. He seems to take his yoga very seriously.

I think I will try that. And no one calls me skinny mini like ever, so thank you!

Yoga bunny is pretty stinkin cute!

Barnes and Noble is my happy place... books and coffee. #perfection

Yoga bunny is so cute... I wonder if just reading about bunny's poses while laying in bed would give me the same benefit as actually doing yoga? I doubt it...

I really really really dislike wind. Great run and way to (literally) push through that yuck wind!

Headwinds are the worst! It's pretty amazing how much they impact your pace and they are just so tiring. Still great job on your paces and look at you with these long runs! You are going to crush it at Tink.

We are almost there!!! :tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker::tinker:

Yes, books and coffee is a great combo!

I actually was trying to tell myself over and over "don't push hard through the wind, just go easy" and so my pace reflected that but I suppose that still counts as pushing myself to keep going! It really is crazy what wind does to you sometimes.

We are ALMOST THERE! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I looked ahead and I have three more legit long distance runs and the third one is the actual Tink half. Cause I've got some taper-type shorter LRs in the mix as well. EEEEP AND YAY!!

Ok, but where are our corrals and waivers? #impatient

TINK TRAINING WEEK #13 In which I try to do my best despite feeling the cumulative effects of working my butt off.
Sunday's 8 miles was a windy affair and I am proud of getting through it feeling relatively ok, but I woke up this morning feeling like I'm so glad it's an off day.

You are right Fa Zhou (I had to google his name)...Although I must say after running for almost 90 minutes in 74 degree heat I was one sweaty, smelly flower.

Ok so what does this week have in store?

RIGHT? :surfweb:

I'm sticking with my original official guess that we will get them next week. I would think that we WILL NOT see them during the week of 4/17 since that is Dark Side week and it seems like they wouldn't want to put that info out the same week as a race week? And then the week after Dark Side seems too late...then again, they do seem to like to take their sweet time, and my runDisney guessing has been terrible this year...:scratchin

J-Lo and Snookie, how inspiring! :rotfl2: Enjoy your rest day!!

So you are saying that hitting refresh on the rundisney website every two minutes is probably not a real good use of my time? :)

Good job on being mindful of the effort not the pace in adverse weather conditions. A smart long term strategy!

I can't take credit for the strategy...I believe you told me that was the right thing to do back on a windy long run few months ago when I was fighting to stay at pace. (See...proof that I occasionally actually listen to advise :D)

Finally caught up!! I LOVED reading your race recap... it actually made me a bit emotional... I feel like I've been on this journey with you and that was just such a massive achievement for me and I'm so proud

But seriously girl CONGRATULATIONS

I really wanted you to get a starbucks... did you get a starbucks? I feel like you've been building towards getting a starbucks for a while now and you did so well on Sunday I was expecting you to get a starbucks to celebrate... Is it weird that I'm thinking this? It's the end of the workday so my brain is a bit fuzzy!

Tink is getting close now!! Looks like your training is going well... Hope your week is off to a good start!

Awwww thanks for being so happy for me
I guess it comes full circle to all the times I've cried at the end of people's recaps!
Bucket list item achieved...I've made someone else cry (but, like not in a bad way)

So I did get my starbucks but it was after being fully showered/dressed/and walking around a lovely outdoor mall with the fam. But it still counted! Nothing like "resting" in between training runs by walking around a ton. I couldn't help it though, the weather was so nice. Perhaps I need to rest this weekend while sitting outside instead of walking everywhere!

Hahaha Loved the Flower gifs. Love getting my roxymama funny in for the week! :rotfl2:::yes::
Good luck on your 9 miles. A long run on a holiday always feels so good for some reason- like I deserve some extra kudos for doing it haha! :)

Most excellent and liberal use of gifs!! Gifs make all posts better, yes?

And OMG on the wait for corrals. I'm getting so impatient. I'm not sure how I'm going to manage another MONTH before this trip finally happens. I'm completely fixated.

I forgot to bring up something when I posted my training week update!

FUELING TEST RUN! @DopeyBadger

This Sunday will be a fueling trial for me (or nutrition, or goo-intake, whatever we call it.)
So I have a few things at my disposal. I've got the chewy bloks and the gel packets.
Let's say I do end up sticking well to my 10:52ish pace...what mile or time do I want to suck down the goo/eat the blok? I realize I've asked this and its been answered to me but I'm having a hard time finding the older conversation.

I have a handheld water bottle and can stash a bottle on my porch for refill if needed. I know that tummies need water when taking in these fuel sources so how much water are we talking.

Any and all help is much appreciated. I may try the Clif stuff first since that's what Tink hands out during the race (knowing I'll carry my own as well.)

Muchos gracias in advance of all help!

Long runs in the heat do not smell fun. It's just a fact of life. Those are the "must shower ASAP before I'm around people" runs for me.

Also, constantly refreshing the runDisney website is always a good use of time. Always.

Agree with @SarahDisney that it's pretty unique to individual runners, but if I'm doing a half and being smart about it, I'll usually take in some fuel around the 4-5 mile mark and then again around the 8-9 mile mark. I don't have a specific formula for water intake with fuel. I just make sure I do drink some water along with the fuel. I'm not a fan of gels or gu, so I usually do something like honey stingers or sport beans and just eat a handful of them and then wash them down with water. I'd guess I drink 2-4 ounces with my fuel intake.
