I've been meaning to start on your training journals for ages now, and @LSUlakes' QOTD challenge prompted me to do it! Training journals are definitely my jam, because people on this board are definitely my people!![]()
You have had some seriously fun races! I love how varied the themes have been, and it has been awesome to see the progress you have made from your start!
Oh, and all of those meal posts are making me want to put a little more effort into menu planning. Those dinners look delicious!
Thanks for stopping by and perusing my journal. I really think I need to go clean up the first or second page with links to my recaps so people don't have to wade through all my training rambling

I honestly had no idea all these fun races even existed outside of rundisney until last year. My concept of running events were very local small 5ks that closed street parking or happened prior to parades, big city marathons I watched on tv and disney races that I saw on disboard trip reports. Honestly! I probably started running at a good time because it sounds like there was a race-boom at least two to three years before I really got into it so by then a lot of races were already at full competitive levels of "biggest medals, best expos, coolest shirts, special themes" to draw runners in. I think hunting out the fun and interesting races for the personal experience of doing them and then fun of posting about them here is what has kept me continually signing up for more.
That being said...I have no August or November or December races this year. So I'm in race-hunt mode still

Thanks for the comment on my progress. There are days I feel like wonder-woman and days I feel like I'm back at square one. I'd love to get back to PR levels...but maybe I'll save that for when its not 93 degrees and humid.
I figured out the trick to making those awesome meals. I pick three nights a week where I cook these meals and then I make "lazy dinners" or leftovers all the other nights. Kind of like how I run only three days a week. And usually run nights = lazy dinner nights. Last night I boiled hot dogs and served them with every leftover in my fridge and then went running.
I guess I should add my run notes from last night. I didn't make it out the house until 8:14...I had approx. 23 minutes until sundown so I just decided to run 2 miles in that time to make it into my house before it was pitch black. I ended up doing 2 miles at 10:37 avg pace. The first 1.25 miles were at a much much slower pace and then I had to kick it up a notch to get home in my window. So not the plan. I'll probably do more of an easy across the board run on Thursday since this mimicked more of a tempo-ish kind of thing last night. Oh and it was very very humid and high 80's, so basically what my July race is going to be like minus the sun. Yay?
