Route to Long Beach / Aquarium of the Pacific?

Getting close to our travel date and will be at DL for most of next week. Excitement is mounting!

We are planning to spend Saturday as a "non-Disney" day and are considering Long Beach and the Aquarium/Queen Mary.

We're Looking for suggestions of the best route from Anaheim hotel (on W. Katella) to Long Beach for an early Saturday morning drive? Considering 5 to 91 West to 710 South or 22 to 405W to 710? Perhaps avoid freeway and just head West on Katella? Other suggestions welcome?

Also, suggestions on route from Long Beach to Knott's at mid-afternoon Saturday? How is traffic likely be at that point? How much time to a lot for the drive?

When are your dates? Just want to see if they coincide with the big road closure, aka carmageddon!

ETA: After looking at a map of the closure, as a poster said below, even if you're there that weekend, the closure is farther north.

I think the best route would be 5 to 91 to 710. As you get closer to the exit for the Aquarium the exit is on the left and not on the right as most exits are. No need to worry about carmageddon even if you plan your visit during the 405 shutdown. Your not even close to the area so I don't suspect you'll have any freeway closure traffic. I really enjoy the aquarium and visit often since I live in the area.

Thanks for the speedy replies... we are in Anaheim until Sat., July 9 and then relocating to Hollywood for most of the next week. We leave for San Diego on Friday Morning, July 15 so will hopefully miss the fallout from freeway closure?

I'm assuming that taking the 710 to 91 back to Knotts in mid afternoon is best choice too? Any thoughts on Saturday afternoon traffic levels?
