Route from Jedi Training Sign-Up to TSMM?

Would someone be willing to explain to me, using landmarks that can be seen on Disney's online maps (as opposed to landmarks you would only know if you are personally familiar with DHS), the best route to get from JTA sign-ups to TSMM? I know where each of them are, but not the best way to get from one to the other. Thank you in advance!

From the Sounds Dangerous building, the JTA sign-up area...
Head back toward the giant sorcerer's hat with American Idol on your left.
Pass the giant hat (walk around it) and find short stairs that face One Man's Dream.
Go down the stairs, walk past One Man's Dream and there you are at TSMM.

2. While standing in line to sign up for JTA in October, we watched more than a dozen families run by toward where the JTA show occurs, then back to where we were.

Unless it's changed since then, they are not the same place. Sign-up was about where Sounds Dangerous is on the map. Same route back to TSMM. Just wanted to make sure you knew.

Is there a particular side of Echo lake we should walk around to get to Jedi Training sign-up? I ask because the last time I was there (a little over 2 years ago), we didn't go all the way to Sounds Dangerous to sign up. We had to stand in line in front of Hollywood & Vine and the sign-up was outside.

I always walk towards the American Idol screen and turn left before I reach it. The Sounds Dangerous/Sound Studio will be on your right.

For SWW, the sign-ups are at Indiana Jones.

I would go to the right of the lake (keeping it on my left). In October the queue began along the side of Sounds Dangerous (between building and restroom) with actual booking taking place inside at 3 CM-manned kiosks.

There is a 2' X 3' sign on a stand out front but I probably would have missed it had I not been following other families. Plenty of people missed the sign and had to come back.

EDIT: On second look at the map, keeping the lake on the right would lead you almost directly into the line as long as you don't veer left once you passed Indiana Jones. This better explains why so many people walked past - they approached the sign from the side, not head on.

Going to the right of the lake, with the lake on your left, leads you right to the pack of Fp+ iPad CMs which is the main and first Fp+ area. All kiosk signs at the entrance lead guests to this area. Best to avoid as you really can't walk through.

So, either veer to the left with the lake on your right, or, head towards the AI screen and turn left.
