I am getting ready to book our 2nd Disney cruise. This time on the Dream for October. Has anybody stayed in a cabin with the round bath tub? Trying to decide if it is worth the extra $400 for a 4 night cruise. No kids just 2 adults, but we both love our baths. 2 women going as a girls only cruise. :cool1:

Thanks in advance.

Becky

the round bathtub is smaller than the standard bathtub, our girls enjoyed taking baths though. the one thing i did like about the round bathtub compared the standard tub is the rain shower head directly over the top of the bath, it was nice. $400 extra nice, not so much. And you arent really paying for the round bathtub, you are paying for deluxe family stateroom to get the round bathtub.

We stayed in a 4B on the Dream last April that had the round tub. We never used it as a tub, but the rain shower was awesome :thumbsup2 It also had the traditional showerhead (which, if I recall correctly, was removabled) so it was easier to give my son a shower.

The built in seat was great for shaving, etc too. I can't wait to get on the Fantasy in 2013 so I can have that shower for 7 nights again :cool1:

We had this tub and loved the stateroom! The tub had so much more room for showering when the curtain was closed. Plus we had the extra room length and a nice arm chair by the sofa to relax in. We would choose it in a heartbeat..and we just had two of us. :)

How is the grip on the bottom of the tub? Will my son slide around while taking his bath?

plenty of grip, our daughers were not sliding around at all....oldest is 6 youngest is 3 and they both fit in there with no issues.

We had one of these rooms on our cruise in September, and I LOVED it! Of course we only take showers, so the size of the actual tub didn't matter much to us, but the fact that the shower curtain no longer attaches itself to you was wonderful! I also loved the shower heads!! I would almost dare to say that for me and my DH, the extra $400 was worth it--that's how much I hated the old showers/tubs!

I think we are going to spring for it. I am 6'1" so I love the concept of more room and the seat for shaving legs will be well worth it, even if I do not use the tub. :thumbsup2

We loved the round tub with the rain shower. My 4 yr old loved taking a bath in it, me not so much. But, using the rain shower head was just wonderful. We didn't get a cabin with one for our next cruise and I will definitely miss it.

We loved the round tub/shower with rain shower head! This combined with the extra space in the stateroom was so worth it to my family of four! My husband and I have the same cabin for our anniversary in June ! :goodvibes

Is that bigger tub one of the only differences between a family stateroom and a deluxe stateroom?

I was in a 5C on the dream but now I'm in a 4E on the fantasy. I just was curious besides the bigger balcony what other differences I would be seeing. It is just 2 adults so I know the family will sleep more but that wont matter to us.

We are in room 5052. I hope we do not have noise problems being right on the end in front of the elevator.

I would book that room JUST for the round tub with the various shower head options, foot wash options, extra large seat, two laundry ropes --- it was just fantastic!:woohoo:

I have that room, too! I haven't had any problems in the past being near elevators :)

We have a 4C booked also and I am so looking forward to the larger tub and room! Our only other cruise was an inside - the small room was OK at first - but after 7 days it felt smaller and smaller and I longed for some private open space. I know the 4C isn't THAT much bigger, but any added space will be nice w/ a family of four. I remember those tiny showers and thinking it felt like it enclosed you and the curtain being right there touching you - yuck! Seems like the round tub/showers will aleviate that! Plus if you have a long day it will be nice to sit and shave your legs if you are extra tired. :)

Plus my sons are bigger (it will be 3 1/2 years since our first cruise) and that will be another nice thing to have a few more feet around us. :rotfl:

We had the round bathtub w/the rain shower in our deluxe verandah room last month on the Dream. Looooved it! Like others have said, the tub isn't super-deep but it has a nice cirumference. I think the detachable hand-held shower head would be a huuuuge perk when taking a bath and washing your hair. Not to sound gross or be all TMI because I swear it's totally a thing of habit since we were married, but with the little recessed seat spot in the shower/tub there was enough space for the hubby & me to shower together. We're not petite people either. He's 6'2", about 200 lbs. and I'm 5'9", about 160 lbs. We were close but not in each other's way or anything. I know, y'all are all sitting there :eek:popcorn:: but I'm telling you it's just one of those things we've always done. Not at all a physical exercise activity. :thumbsup2

I'm totally going to be in the minority here...my kids liked the round tub as they fit in it. My husband and I did not. We are both bath takers and could not do this in the round tub. So, for us, round tubs are a no go :)
And the extra room you get is a small area next to the bed, not really usable space.
Just my opinion here, enjoy whatever room you decide on! It will be fabulous!!

We were in a family room by necessity as we are a family of five. I loved the rain shower, especially since with all the swim and sand you are always showering on a cruise — was like having a small spa in the room! That said, I would not pay $400 for it if I did not have to have a room for 5. I would just pay for a rainforest room length-of-cruise pass instead and shower at the lovely spa :)
