normally wouldn't be at this time of year? Just came up from downstairs and haven't turned the news on yet.. However, last night I heard something about "frigid cold" sweeping over just about every area of the country..

Tell me where you are - what the temp "should" be for this time of year - and approximately what it is now..

We're in the teens - with light snow flurries - upstate NY.. Not nearly as frigid cold as it was over the weekend..

It is currently 45 degrees with a wind chill of 38 here in Northeast Florida. Our normal temps are around 60 degrees this time of year. There is some rain coming in later this week, so it may get interesting here later this week.

It is 32 degr. with 17 mph winds here in northern MD. Not sure what it should be but I thought I heard on the news that we were about 8-10 deg. below normal. The wind is what's bad. It was even worse the last few days. The next few days are going to be cold and windy also.

Not been above freezing here in Central KY in 5 days, no chance for the next 5 days either. Highs this weekend are forecasted around 10, with below 0 at night.

The average highs at this time of year are the low 40s with lows in the upper 20s.

We have been having highs in the 20's and 30's for around a week now. Highs are typically around 50 here this time of year. I am in central NC.

When the kids and I were out earlier it was 21 degrees. The high was suppose to be 32 but we were out around noon and it wasn't so. The low Saturday morning is suppose to be 9!!!! They say if we get snow tomorrow and it sticks around long enough it may be ZERO on by Saturday a.m. Not suppose to get above freezing until Sunday or possibly even Monday. Yes, I'm cold. Oh, this is central Alabama.

I know there are some really frigid temperatures out there so forgive me for whining but....

I'm in North Florida and it's 40 degrees but according to weather.com, it feels like 34 and it sure does!! I'm freezing to death!

In addition, my apartment has no heat (the turbine broke or something..) and my space heater seems to be blowing only cold air.

Needless to say I'm one unhappy Florida girl.

Hope it warms up for everyone! Bundle up and have some hot cocoa!

EDIT: wanted to add that the low for tonight is 20 and there might be SNOW FLURRIES ON FRIDAY.

RORA: If you can, you should go out and get one of those plug in oil heaters. Delonghi is one name brand. I know Lowes, Walmart, Sams carries them. I saw them at Wally world yesterday for $38. The one I got from Sam's has a timer so I can set it to come on during the nite and right before we get up so the room is warm before I even go in it. We have used ours in the bathroom for about 5 years now. Just put one in DD's room last nite and it worked great. programmed it to run right when we was going to sleep, came on once during the night and about 30 min before we woke her up.

It should be in the 50's with lows in the 40's here. It does dip down to the 30's this time of year sometimes too. It's been in the 20's and is supposed to go down to the teens in a few days.

Normal here in South Louisiana is highs low 60 and lows are 40ish.

Keep an eye on the weather because if it snows Thursday/Thursday night/Friday morning, everyone knows that Alabama is not equipped to clear roads so you may have some travel problems.

Yepper Florida. Suppose to go down into the 20's tonight. This morning with the wind chill it was 15 - 18 degrees. Yesterday the heat was not working in our office and it was miserable. Especially listening to my six foot two about 200 lb boss whine about the cold.

Today- 72 and sunny
Wednesday- 72 and sunny
Thursday- 70 and sunny
Friday- 67 and sunny
Saturday- 67 and sunny

Overnight temps all week- high 30s to low 40s. It cools down quite a bit compared to the daytime temps because it's the desert. January is the month with the lowest temperatures, and the temps this week have been a bit above average.

Yeah, I have nothing to complain about!

I'm in Atlanta too. Our normal temperatures are in the mid 40's to 50's. Right now, it's 27 but with the wind chill feels like 14. Friday and Saturday's high is only predicted to be in the high 20's. And they are talking SNOW on Thursday!
