Can anyone roughly tell me how much 250 points costs?

Is this enough for 2 weeks at say SSR every other year?

How much is the annual fee?

Can you bank points for ever, or do they only carry over for one year?

SSR points are $104 each at the moment and dues are $4.12 a point. There are special offers but you may be best speaking to a DVC guide direct.

Have a look here to work out how many points you will need.

Yes you can bank from the current year to use in the next, but they have to be banked within the first six months of that current use year, I think. You can also borrow from the following year to use in the current year.

Just to elaborate on some of Claire's points:
The price per point is for your annual allocation of points, so a one-off payment now of, (to use round figures) $10,400 for 100 SSR points would be buying you 100 SSR points every year until the end of the contract in 2057(? not sure of the exact year!)

The annual maintenance charge can go up each year (or down), and does vary somewhat depending on your home resort. There are, however, strict parameters for any charges / increases.

You can make a banking transaction every year 'for ever' (until the end of the contract anyway ;) ), but each transaction carries the banked points over for only one year. So you could, for example bank 50 points every year and the effect would be the same as banking your first lot of 50 points 'for ever', but would, in fact be a different set of 50 points from each year carrying forward to the next year. :)

on an every outher year senario 160 points sounds ok with me.Think thats disneys min buy in now, used to be 150 points

There are banking deadlines and the clock begins each year based on your use year.

For example My use year is March. My banking deadlines along with the percentage of total points I can bank are:

Aug 100%

Nov 50%

Dec 25%

Jan 1 - end of use year 0%

The date of each deadline month will be the last business day of that month. In other words your wishes to bank must be known by CM by the last business day.

Also banking is based on the total number of points you own, not on total number of unused points.
