Has anyone stayed at Rosen Inn on Palm Parkway. Has anyone used the Disney vacation packages there? What does a Good Neighbor Hotel include? I am cheap and just can't make myself pay Disney Resort Prices. We usually rent a condo in Kissimmee, and rope drop. This is no longer an option due to the 30 minute early entry for resort guest. We go the parks at opening and stay til closing. Any advise? We love Disney , but we are not the guest they are targeting now. We take sandwiches with us and drinks to the parks and usually eat one meal at the parks. Any more Cheapskates out there? Also love Sea World and Universal, We don't fly ,we can drive in about 5 hours. I am a nurse and just about worked myself to death the past year and a half and I need a vacation:-). We are not tied to a school schedule. Thanks so much.

I've stayed at the Rosen Centre for a convention, and will be staying at the Rosen Plaza for another convention if it doesn't get cancelled. Those are the ones which are attached to the convention center. That company has 4 different Rosen Inns, but I have never stayed at any of them (or at the Rosen Shingle Creek).

In the past, people have booked one and been told it was overbooked and they are being switched to a different one. But that was pre-COVID.

Someone mentioned the Palm Pkwy Rosen in this thread on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions forum. Also try Trip advisor for reviews. It doesn't get you early entry if you are thinking that.

A Good neighbor hotel doesn't mean much. From the Disney world website -

Q. What is a Walt Disney World Good Neighbor® Hotel?
A. We are proud to recommend select Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels conveniently located near the Resort. All meet our high standards for comfort, quality and service. In addition, Good Neighbor hotels:
  • are AAA-approved.
  • offer a choice of standard rooms, suites and villa-style accommodations.
  • feature a Guest Services desk to help you plan your Disney vacation and purchase park tickets.
  • provide transportation to Disney theme parks. (A fee may apply.)

I like some of the nearby to Disney offsite options that I've seen....all along Hotel Blvd, where you may/may not need a car, or somewhere else close by for easy driving- I hear you on the onsite prices getting crazy!

I would look at the reviews from different sites pay attention the middle of the road reviews the most as those are usually the more telling ones.
There is no reason to justify why a person stays offsite....... We bought DVC 18 years ago so I am really not paying much to stay on site if I did not have that I would consider staying offsite again. When I first started going we stayed at HOJO's closer to the airport then Disney. Have some great memories.....

The hotel was always a good budget hotel and consistently got positive reviews. Now that Rosen has taken over I wouldn't hesitate to stay. You should get a decent experience for a budget hotel. You can't beat the location either.

That said GOOD NEIGHBOR hotels get NO PERKS. All it means is they meet minimum standards that Disney requires. Minimum like "provides shuttle" but then that shuttle might be once a day, need a reservation and charges you a fee. You'll could get much better perks from non-Good Neighbor hotels.

Palm Parkway area is a great area, I'm actually booked there for three upcoming trips although I have stayed in lots of different areas. A couple minutes and I'm at Disney Springs. At this point now, you'll get the most for your dollar staying offsite.

Per its website, Rosen acquired the property in 1987, when it was flagged as a Comfort Inn. The property was rebranded as a Clarion Inn in December 2010, and now is being de-flagged.

We stayed here many times in the second half of the 2000s. The property had a great location, clean & comfortable rooms (especially as it was being refurbished into the Clarion banner) and beautiful, resort-like grounds. The restaurants and facilities haven't changed much; the food was good, but no longer the bargain it was. On the flip side, the noise from I-4 could be deafening, and impede on our enjoyment of the facilities, but if you ask for a room away from the freeway, it WON'T impact your comfort.
