I made reservations at Rose & Crown for July 4th before I realized that the fireworks would be later than usual. Our reservation is for 7:40. What do you think the chances are for 1) getting a table outside for a party of 7 (last time I tried that we were seated inside), and 2) sitting long enough to get to watch the fireworks?? I'm tempted to just cancel and try to find a spot to watch elsewhere. If we do eat there and try to find a spot aftwards I'm afraid it'll be too crowded to find a decent spot. Decisions, decisions.... (the fun kind of decisions though)

You have a maximum dining time of 2 hours. I really doubt they will take requests for indoor/outdoor seating on July 4th, they didn't last year when I was working there.
There is a higher possibility of a 7 being seated outside because there's more places for you to be sat that can hold 7, but then again I can think of 4 areas inside that you could be sat at as well. Sorry if that's not much help.

Last 4th of July I had made a 7:50 reservation not realizing that Illuminations was at 10:00 not 9:00.

What we did was to check in exactly at 7:50. It took about 10 minutes to get seated. We did get a patio table. We had a really nice server. We told him upfront that we wanted to stay for Illuminations and that we would just keep ordering food (BIG TIP!) so that we could keep the table.

We really did do this - we ordered appetizers for everyone (5 of us), then we ordered two appetizers for the table to share. Entrees, drinks, and desserts. Believe me if they could have rolled me out of there I would have been happy. We were stuffed, the bill was much higher than normal, but we DID get to have a fantastic view of the 4th of July Illuminations.

It was cute all the servers came out on the patio to watch the fireworks. They were all saying "Happy Independence Day" and "Enjoy your Holiday" to all the American customers.
