hi! i have a 7:45 reservation on an illuminations night in july. are the chances good that we could arrive and ask to wait for a table on the patio/porch to see illuminations and our request will be granted? if this is unlikely i will probably switch us to something else.

we have coral reef booked too but i haven't heard good things about it. we have tried le cellier and chefs so i wanted to give rose and crown a try, is it a good place?

Your chances largely depend on how busy they are and how easy they think it will be to accommodate you. You're going at a peak time, however, so I don't know if they'll be able to get you a patio table.

However, you don't have to go anywhere else if you want to see Illuminations. R&C can seat you inside and then you will be able to get up and move to a private patio when Illuminations begins. Just tell your server that you'd like to see Illuminations when you're seated and they'll let you know when it's about to start and show you where to stand. Once you're done, you can go right back to your meal.

I've done R&C for Illuminations for every trip except my last one and it's always been a great experience. The food is pretty good, though not what I would call creative. Still, it's tasty and filling. It's basically pub food, but high quality pub food.

I actually like Coral Reef and had an excellent couple of meals there, but it's been almost five years since the last time I ate there, so things may have changed since then.
