ROR … motion sickness issues?

Hi hoping to get a boarding pass for rise of resistance when we get to DL end of month. Any idea from those who share my plague if any part of this experience could induce motion sickness? My biggest triggers are spinning and ride simulators. Thanks!

The ride is basically a trackless. At the very end there is a short motion simulator similar to Star Tours - but it is short. My DW will not ride ST, she does fine on RotR.

Ok good to know, thx. Could I just close my eyes during that simulator part? That works for me during Soarin’ at times

We rode this week and had someone in our group who felt motion sickness on Star Tours and Smugglers Run. She didn’t have an issue with ROTR. I think it is definitely manageable for those who get motion sickness.

I am worried about this as well as Webslinger. I have never done Star Tours because I don't want to risk being sick for the rest of the day. I have done ROTR and it wasn't to bad, I was really worried about it and was going to take the last chicken exit so my daughter didn't have to stay in line by her self but she talked me into doing it.

I watched a you tube video on webslinger and it doesn’t look horrible but I think I’ll skip it anyway … yeah I don’t even attempt star tours or the other one lol! And that’s ok. Nothings worse than feeling crappy for hours after a 10 minute ride not worth it

IMO- Webslingers is much worse than Rise if someone is very sensitive to motion sickness, since Web basically relies 100% on screen video to create simulated movement.

That how I am as well. I am fine holding the bags and doing a little people watching while the rest go on the rides.

I will skip that one too then. Transformers at Universal is a tough one for me and I think it was the Simpsons ride almost did me in for the entire day.

Webslingers is similar to Toy Story Mania. If you are good on Toy Story I think you would be good on Webslingers. But if TSM is too much for you, I would avoid it. I don't think they really compare to Transformers, they are more about you interacting with the environment and Transformers is throwing you in front of screens to simulate action.

While I don't suffer form motion sickness, I can understand that it might be a problem for those that do. There are several segments with motion that can be disconcerting, in addition to the simulator section towards the end.

I have the same triggers. For reference I can't do Star Tours or Smugglers Run, whereas on Soarin' I'm fine on and I was okay on RotR. There was was small part at that I had to close my eyes during with the simulator but that was it.

If you are okay with being spoiled, watching a ride video might help. That might give you a better sense of what the different parts are and whether or not you think you could tolerate them.

Thanks, good to know. I’ll be skipping webslingers

I also have motion sickness issues. I can't do Space, teacups, or Incredicoaster but I CAN do Star Tours because it's easy to close your eyes on that one and the ride vehicle itself doesn't really move much. I can do Soarin' for the same reason. I'm not too worried about ROTR, but I'm a little worried about WS because it looks like it's closely enclosed and claustrophobia plays a part with my motion sickness (I can't do the submarines, for example) and it looks like the vehicle itself may move alot. How enclosed is WS and how much of it can you just close your eyes through to avoid motion sickness?

I get motion sick REALLY easily and ROTR doesn't impact me at all. The simulator portion is so short and it is basically just going down so much easier for me to handle. This is one ride I would still do even if it did make me somewhat sick (but not if it got to the point of tossing cookies).

I also get motion sickness which can then trigger panic attacks and I've ridden ROTR several times and had no problems at all! the first time I was a little apprehensive because I didn't know what to expect but I was so busy LOOKING at everything that I think I forgot to be motion sick. lol I can't do ANY of the coasters or Star Tours. I hope you have a chance to do the ride and it doesn't bother you....it's quite an experience!
