Some friends are heading to Disney early next month, and just booked their fast passes now. Obviously SDMT is sold out, so they will need to rope drop it. What time do you think they should arrive? Do they line up at the bridge heading towards Tomorrowland?

Also, is there any chance they could also do Peter Pan or will the line already be too long? They have a BOG ressie at 10am.... Thanks!

RD waits are dependent on where you are at RD. If you are at the back of the pack then you might have a wait. The ppo adr people will get to 7dmt first. I'd say they would have time to get on one pretty quick but by the time they got off the wait would be about 45 min for the other attraction. Both attractions are super popular and waits just after RD tend to swell quickly. If the park opens at 9 and they have a 10 adr I'd say they'd only get one of those attractions done.

We did this once during 4th of July week. We did SDMT and then PP. We got there pretty early - we were at the front of the rope drop line. Even so, I wouldn't have been comfortable doing PP with a 10 AM ADR. The line wasn't long and we were moving pretty steadily the whole time, but slowly.

They need to make sure to be toward the front of the rope drop pack and head to 7DMT via the Tea Cups, and not walk back directly through the castle. Doing the latter will put them at the back of the line. They should look at a map in advance and plan this to make sure it goes smoothly that morning. Below is an article from a few years ago describing how this works. I've experienced this recently myself and the path that you take still does make a difference.

If they are able to make it toward the front of the line for 7DMT, then riding PP right after should be fine. If they have to wait 30 minutes for 7DMT, I don't recommend also trying for PP with a 10am ADR.

We did a PPO BOG and were able to do SDMT 3x, then Peter Pan all before Rope Drop crowd arrived. If they can get an earlier breakfast time that might be an option.

Assuming it's a 9a opening, get to the ropes by 8 and line up at the left gate entrance. Then follow the CMs and crowds to 7DM. It's kind of chaotic with people running, zigzagging and jostling. Just stay with the crowd and you'll have minimal wait. After riding 7DM then expect maybe a 15 min wait at Pan.

When they are finished riding 7Dwarfs they can do the simple math of looking at the Wait Time at PPan.

And if your friends arrive late to BoG for breakfast by 10 minutes, what happens??.......they will be seated.

Doable. But at least you're realistic.

What's bolded is NEVER a guarantee if you are late. Especially with how popular BOG is. If BOG is a must do for them, then be there on time. Simple as that.

Also, never assume that simple math will get you through the wait time of PP. What happens if you're just about to the front and the ride breaks down? Get out and eat or wait for the ride to come back up?

As long as Disney has a cancelation fee, sure it is.
What? Disney doesn't have a cancelation fee, they have a no-show fee, and one could possibly be considered a no-show and be charged the fee after 10 minutes past their reservation.

Arrive at a restaurant late because you were stuck on a ride and let me know if Disney does not honor your reservation.

Of course they will!

Bold & exclamation.

Regardless of a ride malfunction - I can absolutely promise that as long as Disney can charge a cancelation fee, late-arrivals (within reason, which is certainly 10-15 minutes) will be seated for their ADR.

Again, Disney doesn't charge a cancelation fee, but even if they did, how is it pertinent to late arrivals requesting to still be seated?

We'll agree to disagree.

I stand by my original statement, as backed up by another... Don't be late for ADR's. There is no guarantee of anything if you are late.

Please show me the written Disney policy that outlines 10-minutes late is a potential no-show fee (thank you for making that clarification where I mentioned a cancelation fee).

Disney sent me this in the reminder emails each day before my table service reservations during the first week of July.

"Payment and Cancellation Policy
You must cancel at least one day prior to your reservation to avoid a per person cancellation fee. If you fail to cancel or are a no show, the credit card provided at the time of reservation will be charged $10.00 per person."

To most people, "no show" means "did not show at the time of their reservation." They don't need to spell out "this means 5/10/15/20 minutes late." It means not at the time of the ADR.

As I've read in other threads about ADR's and being late to them... it ultimately came out that it's mostly discretion of the CMs working the check-in at the ADR.

But I still stand with... don't even chance it. Late is late.

And we agree that BOG is not the place, of all places, to try and chance it.

As long as any restaurant can have patrons wait to be seated and/or charge a no-show fee, that restaurant will honor late arrivals - particularly at Disney.

Why?

Because not honoring a reservation for folks arriving a few minutes late is utterly absurd, particularly at Customer Friendly Disney.

And because of the very distinction Disney makes about the difference between an ADR and a Reservation.

Arrive late and you will be seated - because when you arrive you are placed into the matrix that manages the dining queue. To be more specific, it does not really matter at all to Disney if you arrive late, because they have done nothing in anticipation of your arrival that would prevent them from honoring your late arrival; they are not 'holding' a table. Only way this does not work is of you missed the meal service entirely (i.e., arriving at 11:30 for breakfast).

And I'll give you but one example. Disney did not have my room ready at 4pm - where we planned to change into proper attire (that Disney allegedly requires). I had a 5pm ADR at CA Grill. Guess which Disney preferred - dirty clothes or providing Customer Service? I can absolutely promise you that Front Desk was able to get my ADR honored for my late arrival that occurred through no fault of my own.

Similarly, informing a Cast Member that the 20-minute Wait Time at Peter Pan turned into 30-minutes and made you late is going to have the same effect - an ADR that get's honored by a company that prides itself on Customer Service.
