Rope Drop Question/Early Hour Day Disneyland/DCA

I have a question on how they go about dispersing crowds at rope drop.

We are going to DCA and Disneyland on days where there are early hours, but we won't be able to utilize them. Assuming an 8 am opening for non-early park goers, will they let people moving up the main streets or do they wait until 8 because there are early parkgoers already in the park?

One of the reasons I am wondering is because we will have max pass and would hope to reserve a max pass earlier if they let us through the turnstiles ahead of 8 am.

Any thoughts on this process would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I tend to avoid MM/EMH days in DL. However, when I’ve gone to the park on those days, they’ve always let us in around 7:30 - 7:40 (once your ticket has been scanned, you can begin to use MaxPass). The rope drop has been from the hub. I wouldn’t plan on doing much of anything in Fantasyland. But Adventureland or NOS are solid bets.

Yes, you can use MP before the park officially opens to you. This summer, we scanned in one EMH day to DCA around 7:30, got FPs for RSR (8:15 return time) and got in the standby line for GotG. We were off of that ride and on our way to RSR by 8:07.
