Rope Drop And Parking

Hi All,

I'm trying to make rope drop for the first time at Disneyland. My plan is to be parked and at the gates an hour before. I've read that the parking doesn't open until an hour before park opens. Is this true? And if so how do people get there early enough?

They get there an hour early because they can walk from their hotels.
An hour before at the structure is more than enough time.
The gates usually open 30-15 minutes before park opening and you can then get a closer spot to the rope.

Just remember that if you pick the park with Early Entry or Magic Morning some guests may already be ahead of you in the park.

The parking structures open one hour before regular park time on non-MM mornings or 30 minutes before MM starts on MM morning (which is 90 minutes before regular park opening).

I asked the same question. Thank you for this. I have never had to park at the park and it stresses me out as I want be there at rope drop too!

What we did for our MM day was have my husband drop us off at Downtown Disney 45 minutes before RD, then he went and parked while we got in line, where he joined us. It worked very well.
