We've booked a catagory 2 room. From what I see on the deck plan there are only two of them. Is that correct? Has anyone ever stayed in either of them? If so I'd love to hear details!!!:pinkbounc

Skeeter -
We stayed in 8516 on the 2001 Halloween Cruise and we were truly spoiled. The stateroom is decorated in green tones with a large living room and a huge veranda. There is gleaming wood throughout which is truly beautiful.

As you enter the stateroom, there is a small hallway. On your right you will come to the first bedroom. The bedroom has a walk-in closet, drawer space, and a full bath including a shower/tub. Lots of storage. There were twin beds when we cruised but these can be made into a larger bed. Also, there is a drop down bunk in that room.

As you return to the entry hall, there is a coat closet on your left and a powder room. And, you have another coat closet on your right (but that was pretty full with life jackets). Then you flow into a large living room with a wall of floor to ceiling windows which separates the room from the veranda. it is incredible!! There is a large table for six and a little area for the coffee maker, sink and cooler. Plus, an entertainment center with a great stereo, TV and VCR.

The master bedroom is very large with great storage (can you tell I like storage?). There is another large television and VCR wall unit. Off to the right of the main room is a small area with a vanity table on one side (with drawers) and a large walk in closet on the other. There were a stack of drawers and your safe in the closet also.

You then move into the whirlpool bath area on your right and a double sink area on your left. Keep going to the room with the shower and commode. This room has a sliding door to separate it from the sink area and the sink/tub area has a sliding door to separate it from the vanity/closet area.

Our room was very, very quiet. (I believe it is directly below the Vista Spa). The stateroom was a true joy and our steward, Samuel, was the kindest, most thoughtful and playful steward we have ever been lucky enough to have assigned to us. We really miss him. We had previously had a few towel animals, but every night he really made it an experience, once he knew how delighted we were. We brought Halloween decorations for the door and the stateroom and really had fun with the whole theme.

For us, the room to spread out and relax really made our stateroom a haven for us. I just loved having 2.5 bathrooms!! We cherished every moment of our time there and I hope your trip is just as Magical.

Thank you so much for your thorough description. Now I am even more excited! This will be our first cruise and it's very hard for me to imagine what the room will be like from that itty bitty deck plan chart. My DH and I decided to splurge on this one and get two rooms so we could settle the "who gets to sleep with Mommy" question from the start. We have 2 kids, 8 and 11. DH and I are always smooshed because even if I sleep with him, my 8 yr. old usually crawls in our bed by morning. ( I don't know why......she doesn't do this at home.) Plus we'll be on vacation for 10 days and I know DH is looking for a little "romantic time". HA! HA!

If you have any information that would help me any further please pass it on. I'm such a newbie! I'm especially puzzled about the shore excursions at Nassau and whether we should let the kids stay with the kids club or go with us somewhere. HELP! The 11 yr. old is a boy and as I said the 8 yr. old is a girl. We will be at WDW from June 7-13th at the GF and then the 3 night Wonder from the 13th-16th.

HELP! I'll take advise on ANYTHING!
