Hi,
I am trespassing to get some help for my college freshman DS. He is living in the dorms but his roommate has a lot of guests spend the night. It is getting annoying for DS but he doesn't know how to bring it up. Any ideas?

Have him talk to his roomate. If he can't talk to his roomate about it or his roomate isn't listening, talk to the RA. It's going to be awkward either way. I did the dorm life thing last year all year as a freshmen. I got lucky and had one of the nicest and standup roomates of all time. However, until he has someone else in mind and theres a mutual need, there's not a lot that can be done. Any RA will tell you that the first step is communication. Schools are usually pretty good about this sort of thing.

I'm no longer living in a dorm because I switched schools. If I had stayed, I would be requesting a much quieter dorm. Theres nothing like trying to fall asleep while the kids next door get drunk and have a wrestling match or play "who can stand on their head the longest" in the hallway. Thats not to say that there weren't good times because there were. But there were way too many sleepless nights of the bad variety.

If you're interested in seeing a lot of kids in one dormroom, I recorded a video in mine last semester. It's titled "Double Shot of Buffalo Sauce" and you may need the latest version of quicktime to see it. It's on my website on the "Vids" page. The URL is nickallain d0t c0m.

Thats about 6 people less than our record number of people in the room.

ugh, ive done a 3 shots of hot sauce, wasn't my brighest moment
