Hello all! After three weeks of questions, research and discussion we finally have a reservation number!! We are renting points at Kidani and we are trying for a 2 bedroom dedicated. Yesterday morning couldnt get one (only lockoff), yesterday afternoon our new DVC friend tried again and we were able to get the 2 bedroom dedicated Savannah at Kidani!!!!!

Short story long......what do you recommend for us to put on our reservation to get the best room for our needs? (i know there are no guarantees)

1. We are 2 parents (30/37), 3 kids (9,7,3) and two grandparents (early 50's)
2. We chose Kidani for pool (my kids love the pool) over easy access to food (jambo)
3. We definitely want to see animals
4. Third week of October
5. Will have our own car (but dont mind the 5 to 10 min walk to Jambo)

Thoughts? and thanks as always!!!!!!!

I would guess Sunset Savannah near lobby would best meet your request.

We're in a two bedroom dedicated right now (checking out this morning) and that was my request- close to the lobby and elevator. We got both with 7512. Beautiful villa! Love the room. Hate the lack of animals during the tines we are in the villa. At Jambo, there always were animals in the early norning for me to wake up and see. Here, all we have seen on the sunset savannah for 3 mornings in a row is nothing or an ostrich.

The problem is that the animals are taken to the barn from 8 am to 10am. We've been leaving the room by 7:30 to 8:15 each morning. I've been up between 5:15 and 6:15 each day and there are no animals out there for us to see. My theory is that they know they are going in at 8 am so they head to the barns early to wait for access. That's what the animals do at our local zoo, they all know the feeding schedule and wait for their chance to get moved.

There were animals on the savanna when we arrived on Thurs afternoon, late afternoon. Those are the only ones we've seen from our room other than the ostrich. If you aren't planning to spend a lot of time in your villa other than early nornings and late evenings, the savanna view is probably a waste of money on this savanna.

This is disheartening, we are torn on Jambo/Kidani I feel the animals outside your room is the novelty. We may have to go back to Jambo.:headache:

If Kidani highly recommend requesting close to lobby. It is not the 5 to 10 minute walk to Jambo that is the issue. It is the 5 to 10 minute walk from the Kidani lobby to your room if you are at the end of the north wing of Kidani that can be torture particularly if coming back from a long day at the park with little ones. Close to the lobby means close to pool, restaurant, store, and bus stops.

..to be fair, at least 25% of the Jambo rooms also face the sunset savannah that is now shared with most of Kidani.

It did make a little more sense at Jambo to have the sunset savannah with a schedule more geared towards sunset animal vviewing...
