I have seen a couple of different amounts of how much to tip room service. Is it $1-$2 per time or $1-$2 per person each time

We went to the bank and got 25 one dollar bils. Then we had them on hand. We had the same servers every morning- tipped 1-2 dollars depending on the size of the load!

it depends on how much food ordered....no matter how little you order, I think a $1 tip, for lack of a better term, is insulting to the CM ........I think $3, $4, or $5 depending on the amount of food delivered is appropriate

I have to agree with the 1.00 tip being not enough.....at night even when we just ordered a plate of cookies and a lemonade I gave 2-3 dollar tip.

I must be a cheap-o...I tipped between $1 and $2....this was my first cruise and with all of the other money I spent on tipping, I figured this was sufficient...

Again, tipping can be a personal matter but I do not consider myself cheap at all and we tip $1-$2 per visit...now if we ordered tons of stuff I would increase it but I do not think $1.00-$2.00 tip is "cheap". Average tip for porters is $1.00 per bag.....and they are a lot heavier than the All Hands on Deck platter!!! LOL!!!

We also keep a stash of singles in the bedside drawer so the family has access to it when they order.

Again...it is a personal choice and I believe that the CM's who deliver are happy when they get tipped at all as I am sure many do not.

it is not necessarily all the items ordered that should determine the tip, but the round trip distance the CM travels and time it takes to deliver whatever it is you ordered.....I couldnt look a room service CM in the eye and give him $1 as a tip.....and believe me, I'm not one of the cruisers on this board that tips the 4 regular CMs 200% of recommended..... :smooth:

also, I thought tip for porters was $2.00 per bag?.....so, you have 5 heavy bags and tip these guys $5.00?

I just got back from the bank, have my 30.00 in bills ready to go!!I hope that is enough. Leaving in the am!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I don't even count the porters in my singles I bring because I tip the ones taking my luggage 10.00 and the ones bringing it to the car and packing it in my trunk for me 20.00! I just don't feel that 1.00 is a decent tip....for bags or for having food delivered to your door on the cruise. I tipped our servers more than the recommended last cruise but not insanely more, I think I tipped an extra 20 to each....the recommended amount just seemed so low for all they do for you!
