How was room service at the GF? What did you get? Was it yummy?
I heard that it comes on china and white linen table clothes? That wound be incredible! I was thinking of ordering dinner to our room and ordering a mini wedding cake to suprise my FDH on our honeymoon! Any other ideas????I also figured taht with the free dining, we migt just be eating at Cs and room service. Sounds like all TS ADRS are filled up!!!

We've ordered room service at the GF a few times. Most often a cheeseburger for DS2 and it was fine. Also did prime rib once and it was very good.

I expect all the deluxe hotels serve with linen tablecloths and china. At BCV and GF, linens are white and at the Polynesian they are usually (or maybe always  ) green. I do think the Grand adds a flower but I may have that mixed up with other hotels.

You do understand that Room Service is not included in the Dining Plan?? Just start making those PS (I mean ADR, or whatever:crazy: )now, you should be able to still get some....Try for some of the signature restaurants if you don't mind using two TS's on them....They might be easier to get....

We ordered pizza. The parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes were in separate serving dishes. It was very good and convenient.

Thanks!!! No, we have decided NOT to do the dining plan. It really didn't make sense for the amount of food we eat. Plus, we just grab a bite to eat here and there, mainly will be sitting out at the pool and having a few pina coladas ;) !!! The thought of comming back to the room, ordering a steak and eating it while watching Wishes is heavenly. The table service restaurants are ok; we just want to go, relax and not worry about the food until we GET there. If we don't get dinner, then we can get lunch. The only place we have to eat at is Le Celier. That one is the only one made.

sounds like a perfect honeymoon!! Have a great time!!!

Yes, we've eaten room service a number of times, mostly for breakfast. I believe the last time we ordered breakfast they told us they have a 30 minute guarantee. If you order toast, they bring the toaster with them, so you don't have soggy bread by the time you get your food. They set it all out beautifully on your table or leave it on the cart. It is pricey, but we've always found it to be of a good quality.

I have a cute story about room service at GF...one evening we were stuck in a major rain storm at MK. All transportation leaving MK was closed for about 2 hours ( lightening). Then in the rain storm, we saw a small boat coming to MK from GF. My DW, DD ( age 3) and DS ( age 1) ran to the boat. The dock was flooded and we had to push my son's stroller through the flood. Well, we did make it back to the GF, everyone on the boat applauded when we docked. Unfortunetely, all the restaurants were booked solid, plus we were soaking wet from the storm. We ended up ordering room service that evening and sat around in the robes that they supplied. It was definetely an adventure that my DD still remembers to this day, more that any other restaurant we ate at that week, including Chef Mickey's. So the point of the story is that sometimes the least planned events can be the most memorable.
