I have a question about booking rooms. If you wanted to get connecting rooms and none were available, would DCL move someone from a room to honor your request or would they just make you take 2 rooms that could possibly be on opposite sides of the ship?

Hi,
I was told by DCL that they will do the best they can but could not guarantee two cabins close to one another. We are sailing in August and so far one cabin has been assisgned and the other is GTY status. The rep told me we could very possibly end up on different decks.

This has been my experience, hopefully someone else will have more encouraging info.

Good luck!

Mary

If someone has an assigned room, they may have requested that specific room and I seriously doubt DCL would move them. We have requested specific rooms on the next two cruises we have booked, and I would very upset if they moved us (unless it's an upgrade, and some of those I would turn down - depending on location).

You could opt for adjoining rooms, they are next to each other but no connecting door between them. Not a good idea if you have children in 1 room and adults in the other.

If there are people in connecting rooms who are not sailing together, I would think they'd be more than happy to switch. You definitely get more noise through the door than you do through a solid wall. The only possible exception might be if they are in a connecting secret porthole room or if they selected the room location for a very specific reason.
