Does it maatter how far in advance of your arrival you put your room requests in?

thanks

Depends who you talk to. Some say a week and others say a couple of days.

I do know that most of the DVC unique request categories were removed with the conversion to the new software. VWL no longer has a "lake view" available but it does have a "marsh view". :confused3

Since requests are just that, a request, from my understanding, as long as it is there before they start assigning rooms, you have a chance.

I have been told that there is no order in which they look at request so those putting it in earlier have no better chance than those that get it in a week before hand.

We usually give MS our requests, if we have them, when we book.

Since most places assign rooms about 10 days out, I always feel you need to have it in early. I only make requests when I book and then forget about it.

This is good info to have. I didn't realize that resorts started assigning rooms 10 in advance. So now my question is (sorry to pirate: the thread here) Does online check in have any effect on getting your room requests? I have seen mixed answers about this but if your room is already assigned I don't understand why people say you are less likely to get a request if you do online check in. I know requests are just that and you aren't guaranteed them. I'm just confused I guess. :confused3

Well, online check in didn't help us at all last week. We requested buildings 15 or 16 at OKW and they gave us 49. We were able to have it changed though before we got in the room.
