Hi, all!
I have been looking at room views on the TP website, and I would like to make a request for some buildings. I am working with a travel agent, so I'm sure my request needs to go through her. My friends booked a room via Hotels.com. We are both standard views at CBR. What is the best way to 1 - try to get rooms somewhat close to each other and 2 - request specific buildings. I'm also not sure how things work with a Hotels.com reservation in general, but that is another post for another time.

In any case, I think I like the locations circled below...

You should have your TA update your reservation to indicate that you are "traveling with your friend" by providing your friend's Disney reservation number from their Hotels.com confirmation email to your TA. Your TA can note this additional confirmation number on your reservation. Your TA should understand the specific process.

Using the TP website you can use the room use the FAX request tool to identify the same block of room selections for both your Disney reservation and your friends Disney reservation number.

Finally stop by the Front Desk at Custom House to confirm / check / request rooms closer together if your requests were not met during online check-in and room assignment. Just a reminder these are only requests and might not be met to your satisfaction but it never hurts to triple check.

I believe you have to be a Touring Plans subscriber to use their room request email (not a fax any longer) feature. And they begin sending at 30 days prior to arrival.

Second part/ when you use a third party like hotels.com, hotwire etc. They give you a disney confirmation number that you put in your MDE then you can request from there. Also you can call the resort directly.. we called pop after I got the text my room # and made changes over the phone..( I asked for joining rooms )

Just as a note. In hotel-speak there is a difference between adjoining rooms and connecting rooms.

Adjoining rooms can be across the hall, around the corner, or next to each other but WITHOUT a door in between.

Connecting rooms are next to each other and have an internal door that connects them.

Either way it is only a request, but having worked in a hotel before, I can tell you that many times people request adjoining and DO get adjoining, but they really wanted connecting.
