Room Requests Granted???

We were just at Pop Century. We requested non-smoking, connecting rooms (told them our Grand Gathering #) not bottom floor, 50's or 70's bldg. We got non-smoking, adjoining, 3rd floor, 80's bldg. It turned out that our room was in a very good location. We walked right through the parking lot to get to the busses. We were in the Rubik's Cube bdg #9.

We are staying at CSR, for the first time, in just 3 short weeks. I have booked a king room, so I expect that. I asked for non-smoking because we both have asthma, so I expect that. Otherwise, I have made no requests.

We are two adults, no kids. We will be traveling by car and will use the car at least two days of our vacation to travel around the resort. I would like a room that is close to a bus stop and close to the parking lot. I could care less about the view of the fountains or pools. I am most concerned with not having to walk for over 5 minutes each way to get to the bus from our room. I know the resort is rather large, so I am a bit concerned about this.

We have had all previous room requests honored when we stayed at ASMu and POP. So, I know how to ask nicely.

What section should I request? Should I make a request at all? Just curious. Maggie

i have a lagoon view booked at GF. right now i only have non-smoking requested. should i request castle view if that's what we want? how do you make this request (via phone, email, fax)?

Call Central Reservations and give them your ressie #. Tell them (nicely :goodvibes ) that you would like to add a Castle View request to your reservation. They cannot guarantee this, though. We got Castle View without even asking on our Disneymoon in 2004. We requested Castle View this year and got upgraded to the Main Building RPC concierge...we had a view of the castle and everthing else.

We have requested Castle View for 2006 - crossing my fingers that we get it!!!

Pixie Dust to you!!!

Here's a question about room requests...I just called last week to request a specific building at CBR and my request generated another reservation confirmation sheet sent to my house. It didn't state the building request I had mentioned, but it said "prefer non-smoking". I am sure I requested non-smoking when I initially made the reservation and I looked back on the first reservation confirmation and it was NOT printed on it. Do you think that the building request is still in the computer or is it now only a non-smoking request? Do they always send another confirmation sheet when you make an additional request? Maybe it is a code telling the room assigners that I was a pain in the ***!

I don't think that I have ever made a room request other than non-smoking and I have always recieved non-smoking (knock on wood!). I am super curious to know if I'll get this one.

Funny side note, I travel a lot for business and with our corporate discounts I usually get a room between the ice machine and the elevators. I guess ANY room I get at WDW will be "heavenly" compared to what I usually get! Afterall, it is the happiest place on earth and I am on vacation!

Hmmm... I don't seem to have good luck with room requests either. When we stayed at Pop I requested a room in one of the 70's buildings. We ended up in 80's.

Most recently, on our trip to POFQ, my only request was non-smoking. We didn't even get that! It took a 2-hour battle with the front desk staff to get switched to a non-smoking room.

So I've given up on room requests! :teeth:

Both trips, Riverside and AKL we got what we asked for exactly non smoking, king bed prefered view etc. But I think it helps that we go in late Sept, check in early Monday morning when they have the most rooms to pick from.

We have never faxed a request

We have gotten our requests as well. I always take DS to the check in counter with me and he begs for football so he can go outside. Then I say that ONLY if we get ground floor can he do that since I have to keep an eye on hi little sis.!!!! :goodvibes :rotfl:

Here is what happened-
On our honeymoon we requested a king bed and did not get one, we asked for one and it was granted. We stayed at CR.

2002- CBR- We asked for Martinique and a king room. We got both.

2004- We paid for standard would have been happy with that. We were upgraded to Courtyard.

We must have a guaranteed non-smoking d/t DH asthma and DS health issues.

For our 2006 trip we have a deluxe savannah view room, unless they upgrade us to a suite, I am not expecting anything except a non-smoking room.

Both times at the Grand Floridian I asked for a dormer room in Conch Key and got it. :sunny:
