The busier the week, the harder it is to grant requests. There are also tons of items out of your control that contribute as well. Keep it simple, hope for the best and keep an open mind.

I am sorry to say there are very few "low" crowds anymore. You will find some mid-level crowds, but there will be a few weeks that you will just have to deal with the weather.
