Hi,

DVC member staying at the Poly for the 1st time in 2 weeks.
VERY excited! Celebrating our 23 Anniversary there!

Has anyone had any success requesting a specific bldg., floor, etc?
I understand that there are only 3 bldg. for DVC members, etc but I do have a preference and would
love to contact the resort ahead of time.

Thanks for any and all advice, help, etc! :-)

As a DVC member, you make your requests by calling Member Services. They'll add it to the reservation for you. You'll also have a few request choices available when you do online check-in, but unless your requests are really generic, it's better to call.

All calls to Disney resorts go to a call center, not to the resort itself, and I don't think the folks at the call center would be able to access your DVC reservation.

If you have a lake view you only get one building, and only one half of that building, so your options are low floor or high floor.

If you're willing to check-in the old fashioned way in the lobby, I've had luck switching rooms when arriving early. I managed to avoid the block of rooms facing the infamous TTC boat dock, which I wanted to avoid after hearing complaints about the annoying boat horns sounding throughout the day. I got a room with a nice view overlooking the new Oasis pool.

Yeah... I'd like "anything" other than a parking lot view. , LOL
Not that we plan on spending any lengthy hotel time, but it would
be nice to have a nice view for coffee in the morning before starting the day.

I know that folks used to have to "FAX" their requests directly to the resort, if I am
correct? I was just curious if that was still the way to go or not.

Were arriving on May 4th and should get to the resort around 1:30ish, hopefully that will allow for
getting accommodated.

Thanks!!!

That was never a "have to." It was just something that got started on the internet. Somebody sent a fax, got their request (though they would just as likely gotten it by calling), and talked about it on a message board. And others started doing it.

DVC resorts have at times been resistant to accepting faxed room requests. There was even a time when there was a notice on the member site stating that faxes wouldn't be accepted at all. I've heard mixed reports on how they're handling it now, but I would never rely solely on a faxed request to a DVC resort. Call member services.

I've always just called the guest services number to add a request to our reservation. So far we've gotten everything we have asked for but I have never requested too many things on one reservation.
