Anything in particular to request? We will have our first stay there in fall 2008 (renting points from a DISer) and I don't know the situation regarding balconies (does every room have one?) and quiet parts of the building. We will have a studio booked.

If there is anything else you want to share about this gorgeous resort, please do. Thanks!

Yes, Every room does have a balcony. Not sure about the quiet section as the villas are situated in another building off of the main BC so I've never ever had a noise problem. The main lobby of the BC can get hetic, with folks going back and forth from SAB, beaches and cream and Cape May but once you leave there it is peaceful. If you are on the first floor by the quiet pool you will have a patio instead of a balcony but I've never heard a lot of noise from the quiet pool area either. The only request I've ever made is for a full bacony.
We love this resort. Check out the atrium and the parlor connecting the two buildings.

If you are looking for quiet you might not want the Epcot view/woods road side. If you have your balcony doors open you can hear road noise and you can definately hear illuminations. However, you can also see lots of illuminations as well. Kind of a catch -22. HTH

Thanks so much for the quick responses! So...all rooms have balconies, but some are half and some are full?

If you do not get an Epcot/Woods view, what is the other option?

I am thinking of requesting (or rather...having the DVC owner request for me) upper floor, full balcony and away from the elevator. Just not sure about view requests.

I understand requests are just that, and not guaranteed.

Thanks for your input, buuz, eliza and those that follow. I love starting my day sipping coffee and dreaming about an upcoming trip!:goodvibes

I'd probably place my balcony request as the most important. Remember the villas where "add-ed" on to the original BC so I haven't had a "spectacular view" yet. I will say that even the year I got the "parking lot" view :rolleyes1 I loved doing just what you said. Get up early, go across the pond to the Broadwalk bakery, get yourself some thing sinfully sweet and gooey and some coffee and than sit on your balcony and watch the "world" wake up. There is absolutely no better way to start the day!

Have a magical vacation!

All of the balconies at the BCV are full balconies. It is the BC itself that has some standing room only balconies. There are no "spectacular views" at the BCV, like at some other resorts. We have had a quiet pool view and really enjoyed that.
There is no bad room, IMHO!
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks. I felt I should request *something* simply to avoid a parking lot view. I may let the chips fall where they may.

I am so excited at the thought of FINALLY swimming at SAB and being SOOOO close to Epcot!

We're staying for the first time in a BCV Studio next May. I can't wait to check them out! :)

Is this true...

When I was there in Aug....when I was checking in I wanted to know
if my room had a "full balcony"....

After looking at some map....they said yes....
You would think they would know that if all the rooms had one.:confused3

At BCV the parking lot view is also the Pool view, so it is actually one of the better views. There are no great views here due to where they built it.

Also since you are staying on DVC points, more than likely they will offer you room ready instead of assigning a room based on requests. They will let you know what is available at check in and you choose from that.

Yes, and none of the rooms truly face the parking lot unless the pool and vegetation is in between.

We happen to love the views at BCV athough there is one view that I would not want but another BCVer I know loves it. so just try for yourself and see.

As for the balconies, it depends on what you mean by full. All villas have a balcony or patio large enough for a table and chairs. No standing room only ones like the BC. But some balconies run the width of the villa and others are enclosed and slightly smaller. If you look at a picture of the building you can see how they vary.

When we went last year, I requested the following 422, 231,227,222 or anything iwht a "Wids" view. I understand you can see some of Illuminations form these room. Didn't get any of the requests and ended up with a veiw of the Parking Lot.

what is a "wids" view. :confused3

Ok, sounds like the parking lot view is similar to the standard view at BWV. Both times we stayed at BWV we were at the very end of the hall, closest to MGM. Our balcony looked over vegetation and a small lake and past that was a parking lot, but we were VERY happy with the view. If we looked to the right, we could see ToT. I did not consider it a true "parking lot view" but maybe someone who is a "glass half full" type of person would.

BCV23-That is good to know about the balconies. I really like a "slatted" balcony. When we stay at the WL, I ask to not stay on the floor below concierge level (geez, I cannot remember right now whether it is the 6th or 5th...it has been so long since I have stayed there or been on that thread even!) because I prefer to NOT have the enclosed balcony. I find you have to stand AT the balcony to see over it. DH and I are bigtime "balcony sitters" in the morning with coffee and in the evening with wine!:cloud9:

Penny-are you going May 2008? If so, let me know how you like the BCV! I cannot see how anyone could NOT like it, though!

Sammie-That is a good point about room availability. I still like to have it "on record" so at least when I am checking in, they have the info and see that it was not just a second thought at the last minute. I am hoping that checking in on a Saturday may be helpful.:cool1:

Thanks for the info, surfer ed!

alldiz-I wonder if they were concerned about the balcony differences that BCV23 mentioned. Or maybe it was a brand new CM???

WOW! I am surprised I have never seen that site before! That map is very helpful, I am bookmarking it. Thanks so much!

Disneybride-Is there info on other WDW resorts on there, or only BCV? It seems like there is only BCV info, but maybe I am doing the search wrong. Thanks!

We stayed at BCV in a studio last year and LOVED it!! I guess we had a woods view - there were woods, but we could also see the Eiffel Tower, the top of American Adventure building, and the Tower of Terror all from our balcony. I thought that was awesome! I can't remember the room number, but I think we were on the 4th floor.
