We're staying at VWL studio and would like to be close to the lodge building, where our family is staying. Are rm #s closer to the lodge the lower #s? So would rm 4505 be closer to the lodge than 4561? At dvcnews, it seems as if views of the lower # rms are better. Do you think lockoffs are noisier than dedicated? Also, do you think there's any impact on your rm request by doing online checkin?? thanks!

If you request a room number you will never get it. You are better off requesting "near WL". Dedicated Studios are quieter be I don't remember if there are any towards the front of the building. I do know that there are several at the far end over looking the service area.

VWL is a very small resort. Just about every villa is close to the main lodge. Your family would be better off requesting close to the villas.

Getting too specific in your requests (like a room number) almost always works against you. You want to give the room assigners every opportunity to fill your request.

There are dedicated studios at the end of the building that's closest to the lodge. I would just request "dedicated studio, close to main building".

I'm not sure how any room at the VWL could be considered close to the lodge since you have to exit the building and walk outside before getting there. I guess you could ask to be close to the elevators for a quick exit.

There's a door in that part of the villas building I described that's close to the Lodge. You come out right opposite the bus stop, a few steps from the Lodge.

It's closer than the BCV is to the BC. It's closer than the BWV are to the BWI (even if they do share a lobby). It's much closer than Kidani is to Jambo. It's really only a few steps under a covered walkway from near the store to the villas.

Yes, I understand that, I was just trying to understand how a room request of "close to lodge" would be relative at VWL. Our last stay there this past spring we were in a 1 b/r right off the elevators, and were given access to a day room at the lodge (due to needing internet access which was broken in our room). It was a hike (down the elevator, through the walkway, in the building, past the mercantile, turn right and take another elevator up, to a room that overlooked the main pool, again pretty close to the elevator, seemingly about as short as it could get between two rooms there.

Didn't realize there was another access door in the wing of VWL that lets you out by the bus stop. I can't quite picture where that would be (at the end of the hallway...down what used to be steps but is now a ramp outside???)...I guess that would cut off a little bit of the walk and would be the closest. Nothing like learning something new!
