Hello all!

I have a trip coming up next month for 9 nights at OKW, via point rental through David's. There are 4 adults going and we've booked two studios. Since we weren't able to secure HH booking category, I know we can't be in buildings 11-14 or 23-26. We would like to be in that general area, if possible, so here are my thoughts/questions:
  • Is it best to have the renting member put in a request on our behalf and then when doing online check in, not make any requests (since I think that could override the original request)
  • Regardless of who the request comes from, what would you recommend that I request? I am thinking buildings 27-29 might be fairly ideal since they are reasonably close to the HH area and since it is the first bus stop, we could elect to walk over to HH to catch the bus on our way out of the resort and easily avoid the lengthy trip around the resort with all the bus stops, then be the first off on the way back from the parks.
Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!
-Kelly

Those three buildings would be close to the Peninsular Road bus stop, first one after entering the resort from the theme parks. And you can walk to HH if you see it and miss it. The bus will go to South Point, then Turtle Pond, Then Millers Road, then HH. You could also walk to Turtle Pond stop if you just miss it at Peninsular Road. You should be able to request Peninsular Road with on line check in.

Studios are usually at the ends of the building. So if you request "Traveling with" to be close to each other, you might be on opposite ends, on top of each other or in adjacent buildings but close to each other.

I've stayed at OKW 7 or 8 times and my least favorite room was building 28. It's on a fairway and the thick trees made the room really dark. Looking over at building 29, the trees were touching the balcony.

Thanks. What would your suggestion be then? And any insight as to whether it is best to have the renting member make the request, or for me to make the request via online check in?

Thanks for all the great info! What do you think is the best way to make requests? Have the renting member do it, do it via online check in, or call the hotel directly?

My favorite rooms were on Turtle Pond Road. Since you want to be close to the HH, I would request 30 to 32. I had 31 once and it had a nice pond view. I've also heard 45 or 46 are nice, along the canal.

there are only a few buildings with elevators and they are up front, so we requested near elevators when doing on-line check in and ended up in building 64. right across the street from HH.

You cannot call the resort directly. If you do online check in, you can request an area or view (like golf course, canal, water, etc). Also higher/lower floor. If you have a real specific request, you'll need to ask the member you rented from add it to your reservation. And then you don't want to do online request.

We were in building 26 in August. It was perfect. under 5 minute walk to HH and the bus top for Peninsula Road was right outside of our door!

How many options can you request during online check-in?

If you are looking for the Hospitality area but did not or could not book it, then the next best in my mind is to request bldgs 16, 17 or 18. They are on Millers Road but fairly close to the Hospitality bldg and they all have great views of the ponds and golf course and the Hospitality area. They are also NOT on the outside of the resort so they DO NOT border the access roads so you will not get the road noise. I also found it convenient to hop off at the Peninsula bus stop(bus stop #1) and walk back to bldg 18 and bldgs 16 and 17 would be even closer. Going to the parks or even just going to the Hospitality House, you have the option of hopping on any bus at the Millers Rd bus stop as Hospitality house is your next stop.

We just got back and our bus went to HH first, then Millers......different than what was posted before so I thought I'd mention it. We were on Millers and only took the bus back to I don't know the rest of the route.

That being said. We were in building 18. Bus stop was right next to the building across the street, close to the quiet pool and an easy quick walk to HH.

That should have been the Internal Bus, not theme park buses. Theme park buses are Peninsular Rd, South Point, Turtle Pond, Miller's Rd, and, finally, Hospitality House.

Goes to show how everyone's favorite/least favorite is different. We stayed in Building 28, top floor, 2 years ago and loved the location. Yet, we were in building 40 once-that was our least favorite. Shortly after we got back, I read a trip report from someone who'd had and loved, that building. For convenience, our favorites are buildings 16, 17, and 18, early part of Miller's Road, if not 28.
