Room request at okw

Hi we are new to Disney on site and are staying at okw in 10days time. I have read that some rooms are far from the pool we live in the Irish countryside far from everything! So on holiday I would like ,y kids to b able to walk to shop and pool. Do I just ask at check in.

You want to request a room near the Hospitality House. Those rooms are the closest to the main pool and shop. Another nice area is near turtle shack. There is a large quiet pool there, playground, and snack shop. We've stayed in both areas and loved both. And even the farther buildings are only about a 10 minute walk and you can always hop on any bus, as the main building is always the last stop. OKW is one of our favorite resorts. I'm sure you'll love it!

If you are booked at DVC through a cash reservation, you call reservations and place it on the reservation.

If you booked through a TA, they will have to do it for you.

If you booked points, the person you booked through will have to do it for you.

Close to Hospitality House is a booking category for DVC points stays. It is not available for cash stays. If you haven't already booked that category, you probably won't be able to get it when you arrive or by requesting it now.

There are multiple pools on the property and each section has a bus stop. So you can take any bus to the Hospitality House. To get back to your section, just grab the Internal bus (also the DTD bus) since it usually stops at the HH first (make sure it hasn't stopped there already and isn't heading out of the resort). Or you can walk over to the Peninsular Road bus stop (just across the bridge from the HH area) and get on a theme park bus and head back to your section.

OKW is really an easy resort to get around. There are sidewalks all over the place to keep you safe while you are walking around.

We stayed in a 2BR on a cash reservation last summer. My dad needed a close walk to everything because of health issues, so I asked to be near transportation and in a building with an elevator. They were great at granting my request and put us in building 62. It was a really quick walk to the pool, food, gift shop, and busses. We loved it.

The DVC category for "near hospitality house" is buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. 62, 63, 64 are the only buildings with elevators.
