Room Request Advice

In a few weeks we'll be taking our first trip to Aulani as well as our first ever DVC stay. I've never made a room request before but I was thinking of trying it this time. I know it may not happen but I'd like the best view possible for each of the room categories we've booked. We're staying in an ocean view studio, followed by a poolside 1 bedroom, then a standard view studio.

Would you just request the highest floor for each of these, or are there other things I could request? Most people seem to prefer Ewa tower (from what I've read). Is this because of view or easy access? Can I request these things via online check in or should I do a chat to member service?

Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

We (or should I say the members whose points we've rented) put our request in with member services when we booked. We are members too, but our VGC points are too valuable at 11 months to use for other properties so we rent and get a fantastic deal! We requested the same room we had 5 years ago (ocean view studio)...1610, but also like 1678, 1656 and 1478 based on pictures from here. We will be there Saturday the 5th and hope to get one of our requests. The on-line check in for room requests was useless.

Thanks very much. Unfortunately most of the pictures on here don't seem to work for me! I'm not sure why. I might just copy the one you like. :-)

Ewa tower OV gets the sunset. A higher floor ewa tower is perfect. Pool side won’t really matter but higher floor which is 4 I think. Will give you a little more privacy and light. Pool view is my least favorite between after ocean and island. Standard I haven’t had but either way it won’t be great. A view of the golf course would be optimal.

That's great! Thank you so much for your help. Is the pool view really that bad? We really weren't sure what to go for.

Ok, I'm blaming you CaliAdventurer! We're there in less than two weeks and I've just upgraded our 1 bedroom to an ocean view too. Fingers crossed for a good view! I'm so excited. :-D

We're still in standard for the last two nights but that's just somewhere to stay before the journey home.

You won’t regret it. If you’re making the effort to get there you may as well! If you didn’t do ocean, I would say island. I found the pool view to be very dark and noisy. It’s the first 4 interior facing floors. It does how we have a nice lushness to it. But for the extra points, it’s not a good value.
